MY FAVOURITE FESTIVAL

All festivals are great, but my favourite festival in my community is

THE FEAST OF THE LORD OF LOCUMBA

The feast of the Lord of
Locumba is held every year
on September 14 in a town
called Locumba that belongs
to the department of Tacna.
Many people come to the
Locumba district to celebrate
this religious festival where
the residents receive them
with great affection and
good treatment.

Two days before the entrance of the

different companies of religious
dances is made to pay tribute with
various songs and dances to the
image of the Lord of Locumba. That
same day the pilgrimage from Tacna
to Locumba takes place in which the
pilgrims travel a very long way.
Finally, the pilgrims arrive at the
Sanctuary of the Lord of Locumba to
witness the festive mass where they
receive their blessing and everyone
