Subject: Motivation letter for admission to Nuclear Engineering

To whom it may concern

I am enthusiastic and passionate about pursuing higher studies in Italy's prestigious, top-
standard, and oldest institutes. The University of Pisa is highly ranked, standing among the
top 250 universities according to QS world ranking, having 5th position in Italy itself, the
ninth-oldest in Italy while the sixteenth-oldest surviving university all around the world, where
the number of scientific inventors, mathematicians, astronomers, political economists, and
Nobel prize winners have been educated. The University of Pisa has been always among my
top priority because of the standard and quality of education, diversification in the field of
studies, opportunities for research work, affordable cost, internship opportunities during
studies, a lot of chances of employment after graduation, and the availability of English-
taught programs.

Therefore, I am eagerly interested to apply for Nuclear Engineering, which suits my interest
best among the available fields of study at the University of Pisa. With a bachelor’s degree in
my hand, specifically in Mechanical engineering, along with a 3.4 CGPA overall, I am moving to
prove my interest in chosen field. I have had a very keen interest in subjects, including,
thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, power plant engineering, clean energy
technologies, compressible flows, and propulsion systems. In fact, these are the subjects in
which I have got extraordinary grades that reflect my extreme interest in the mentioned field
of study. Moreover, concerning my final year project, which is based on the principle of gas
turbines, specifically the Brayton cycle, I have designed and fabricated the turbojet engine,
which was not simple as it sounds, but by using two turbochargers in cross-configuration with
the combustion chambers in the middle to ensure its working without any axial compressor

and turbine, which I later named Twin Turbo Cross-flow Dual Tabular Combustor, is an
acronym of TTX2TC, a novel turbojet engine.

Adding my professional experience to support my interest, currently, I am working as a Sub-

Assistant Engineer in one of the leading textile industries of Pakistan, Artistic Milliners, in a
Mechanical Workshop department since Nov 2021, just after my graduation, where I am
responsible for the smooth running of mechanical equipment, machinery, and effective
utilization of energy. To reduce industrial energy consumption, I carry out routine audits for
the rectification of energy systems. Hence, in the light of above-mentioned achievements, I
want to explore my area of interest with specialization and work for the sustainability of
energy and its modes in the future.

To conclude, I feel confident to secure admission into the applied field of study because of my
interest and past attainments that make me strong to get my passion. Undoubtedly, securing
admission will help me and my interest to grow, but also benefit the country and university
where such talent gets enrolled. That’s all over from me, now, looking forward to a suitable
