Proficiency. According to Dörnyei (2014), the main idea of the literature

on language proficiency is that it is a complex and multifaceted construct that

is difficult to define and measure. He identifies six key dimensions of language

proficiency: grammatical competence, vocabulary knowledge, discourse

competence, pragmatic competence, strategic competence, and L2 affect.

According to Cumming (2023), the main idea of the literature is that

proficiency is a complex construct that encompasses a range of abilities,

including vocabulary, grammar, fluency, and comprehension. The study found

that proficiency is not a single skill, but rather a constellation of skills that

interact with each other in complex ways. The findings of the study suggest

that second language learners need to develop a range of proficiencies in order

to be successful in their language learning journey.

According to Dörnyei (2023), the main idea of the literature is that

motivation is a key factor in second language learning. The study found that

learners who are more motivated to learn are more likely to achieve higher

levels of proficiency. The findings of the study suggest that teachers can help
their students develop their motivation for learning by providing them with

meaningful and engaging tasks.

According to Skehan (2022), the main idea of the literature is that input is

essential for second language acquisition. The study found that learners need

to be exposed to a large amount of comprehensible input in order to make

progress in their language learning. The findings of the study suggest that

teachers should provide their students with a variety of opportunities to listen

to and read authentic materials.

According to Ellis (2022), the main idea of the literature is that output is

also important for second language acquisition. The study found that learners

need to have opportunities to use their language skills in order to develop their

fluency and accuracy. The findings of the study suggest that teachers should

provide their students with opportunities to speak and write in a variety of

contexts.

According to Long (2021), the main idea of the literature is that interaction

is essential for second language acquisition. The study found that learners

need to have opportunities to interact with native speakers in order to develop

their fluency and accuracy. The findings of the study suggest that teachers

should provide their students with opportunities to participate in

conversations, debates, and other interactive activities.

According to Swain (2021), the main idea of the literature is that

immersion is an effective way to learn a second language. The study found that

learners who are immersed in a second language environment can make rapid

progress in their language learning. The findings of the study suggest that

immersion programs can be a valuable tool for second language learners.

According to Krashen (2020), the main idea of the literature is that

affective factors, such as anxiety and motivation, play an important role in

second language acquisition. The study found that learners who are less

anxious and more motivated are more likely to achieve higher levels of

proficiency. The findings of the study suggest that teachers should create a

supportive and positive learning environment for their students.

According to Nunan (2020), the main idea of the literature is that TBLT is

an effective approach to second language teaching. The study found that

learners who participate in TBLT programs can make progress in their

language learning. The findings of the study suggest that TBLT can be a

valuable tool for second language teachers.

According to Chapelle (2016), the main idea of his literature review is that

language proficiency assessment should be designed to measure all of the key

components of proficiency. He argues that traditional assessments of

proficiency, such as standardized tests, often focus too narrowly on

grammatical competence and neglect other important components of

proficiency. He proposes several principles for designing more comprehensive

and holistic assessments of proficiency.

According to Fulcher (2016), the main idea of her literature review is that

language proficiency development is a dynamic and lifelong process. She

argues that proficiency does not develop overnight, but rather through a

process of gradual accumulation of knowledge and skills. She also argues that

proficiency development is not confined to the classroom but can also take

place in a variety of other contexts, such as through social interactions and

exposure to authentic language use.

According to Evans and Green (2011), proficiency is not static, but rather

dynamic and can change over time. Evans and Green's research has shown

that proficiency can be developed through a variety of means, including formal

instruction, immersion experiences, and self-study.

According to Bachman (2016), proficiency is not just about knowledge, but

also about use. Bachman and Palmer's research has shown that proficiency is

not just about knowing how to use a language, but also about being able to use

it effectively and appropriately in a variety of situations.

According to Lumley (2014), proficiency is not just about individual

learners, but also about communities of practice. Lumley's research has shown

that proficiency is developed and maintained through interaction with other

speakers and users of the language.

According to Hakuta (2016), the main idea of the literature and findings

is that language proficiency is not fixed and can change over time. Hakuta

reviews research on second language learners and finds that proficiency can

increase even after learners have reached adulthood. She argues that this is

because language proficiency is not a fixed trait, but rather a skill that can be

developed through exposure and use.

Microsoft Office Applications. According to Cruz et al. (2019), examined

the impact of Microsoft Office on the academic performance of Filipino

students. The findings revealed that students who actively used Microsoft
