6. If area of a rectangle = 25a2–35a+12, find its length and breadth.
7. Express 2. 45 and 0. 36 as rational numbers, and hence find the value of

8. Factorize: 2x2 + y2 + 8z2–2 2xy + 4 2yz – 8zx.
9. (i) If x=2 and y=1 is a solution of equation 2x+3y = k, find the value of k.
(ii) If x = 2k–1 and y = k is a solution of the equation 3x–5y–7 = 0, find the
value of k.
10. A taxi charges Rs. 20 for the first kilometer and Rs. 12 per km for
subsequent distance covered. Taking the total distance covered as x km
and total fare Rs. Y, write a linear equation depicting the relation between
x and y.
11. (i) If (3,4) lies on the graph 3y = ax+7, find the value of a.
(ii) Draw the graph of the line y = x–5. Find the coordinates of the point
where the graph cuts the x-axis.
12. Draw the graph of the line 4x + 3y = 24.
(i) Write the coordinates of the points where this line intersects the x-axis
and the y-axis.
(ii) Use this graph to find the area of the triangle formed by the graph line
and the coordinate axes.
