Action for Word Windows:
13 – Borders and Shading:
To shading a word or paragraph: To make shading for a word
or paragraph: select it, then, from the menu bar select the
shading icon a window appears, select shading colour, select
the shading degree, then click on it, as in figure (3 – 1 – 14).

Perform the following steps to insert a graphic into the
document:
a) Determine the position of inserting the clip art.
b) Click Insert on the menu bar.
c) Point to Clip Art in the toolbar.
d) Click Clip Art, a window appears, click the search
for clips text box.

14 – Inserting Clip Art:
Perform the following steps to insert a graphic into the
document:
e) Type the clip art you want, for example car, click
Go, the window for the available clip arts of the
cars are displayed as shown in figure (3 – 1 – 15)
or
f) click Go; all the available clip arts are displayed
as shown in figure (3 – 1 – 16).
g) Click the desired clip art.
The clip art is inserted as in figure (3 – 1 – 17).

15 – Inserting a picture:

To insert a picture; click Insert in the menu bar,


then; click picture in the toolbar, a new window
appears, from this window search for the desired
picture in the media in which the picture is
stored. Write the file name of the picture, then;
click Insert as shown in figure (3 – 1 – 18).

16 – To resize a graphic:

Once you have inserted a graphic into the document,


it is easy to change its size. Resizing includes both
enlarging and reducing the size of the graphic. The
following steps illustrate the resizing procedures:
a) Click anywhere in the graphic to select it.
b) Drag the sizing handle diagonally until the desired
size is achieved.

17 – Inserting Water Mark:
Perform the following steps to insert a water mark into
the document:
a) From the menu-bar choose page layout (Design in Win10).
b) From the page background section, choose water mark, as
shown in figure (3 – 1 – 19).
c) A new window appears; from this window choose custom
water mark. Figure (3 – 1 – 20).
d) A new window appears; from this window choose the text or
picture water mark, Figure (3 – 1 – 21)

Perform the following steps to insert a water mark into
the document:

e) If the text water mark is chosen, type the desired


words rectangular box and click apply.
f) If the picture water mark is chosen, select the picture

18 – Inserting equation:
Perform the following steps to insert an equation into the
document:

a) From the menu-bar choose Insert.

b) From the symbols section, click Equation (π).


c) The toolbar is changed to different forms of
equations, choose the form you want and click
it. As shown in figure (3 – 1 – 22) and figure
(3 – 1 – 23).

Perform the following steps to insert an equation into the

19 – Inserting footer, header:

To create header and/or footer perform the following:


a) From the menu bar click Insert.
b) From Header & Footer section, choose header or footer.
c) Edit the header or footer.
d) Type the header or footer you want. As shown in figure
(3 – 1 – 24 – a) and figure (3 – 1 – 24 – b).

19 – Inserting footer, header:
A header is text you want printed at the top of each
page in the document. It is printed in the top margin
one-half inch from the top of each page.

Footer is text you want printed at the bottom of every


page. It is printed in the bottom margin one-half inch
from the bottom of each page. Header and footer can
include text, graphics, current date, current time, total
number of pages or page number.

To create page numbering perform the following:


a) From the menu bar click Insert.
b) From Header & Footer section, choose page number.
c) The page number window displays.
d) Choose the page number style and click on it. As
shown in figure (3 – 1 – 25).

21 – To save the document:
When the document is saved for the first time, the
user must assign a file name to it. Select the office
button icon ( ) on the menu bar, then; the "Save
As" icon. The save as window appears, type the file
name, then, click "save" at the bottom of the save
as window, figure (3 – 1 – 26 – a) and figure (3 – 1
– 26 – b) show these steps.

22 – Printing a document:
To print a created document, perform the following
steps:
a) Ready the printer according to its instructions.
b) Click the print icon on the office button as shown
in figure (3 – 1 – 27 – b).
c) A print window appears, choose from this printing
window the required options, then, click OK, as
shown in figure (3 – 1 – 28).

Spell check

•To enable spell check as you type, follow


these steps:
•Click the File tab, and then click Options.
•In the Word Options dialog box, click Proofing.
•Make sure that the Check spelling as you type
check box is selected in the When correcting
spelling and grammar in Word section.

•To enable replace text, follow these steps:


•Click the File tab, and then click Options.
•In the Word Options dialog box, click Proofing.
•Click AutoCorrect Options, and then click the
AutoCorrect tab. Select the Replace text as you
type check box, if it is not already selected.
