What are the criteria for recognizing heroes? Explain each.

I. Extent of sacrifice for the welfare, A hero does not limit him/herself when it comes to our
country. He does not think twice to sacrifice for our country, just by speaking up even if it
has the risk of being killed.
II. The methods and the motive used in attainment of the goal, A hero does not use a knife
or a gun to fight and show his strength. Rather, he uses his brain and voice to stand for
our country. A hero should think about how he could attain his motive deeply and not
recklessly point his gun at his enemies.
III. The person's moral character, A hero should be a loving and a sincere person. He thinks
about others, and especially about his country. How he thinks and acts plays an
important role in being a hero, it is the foundation of a person's character.
IV. Influence on the peoples on his/her age, or even the succeeding age. A hero should
stand as a good influence, where he could be a basis to people on how a person should
be.
V. A person who has a concept on how a nation should be, and aspires to struggle for its
freedom. A hero should have a clear goal or objective on what he really wants for its
country. That he doesn't even think twice to die just for us to have and experience
freedom.
VI. Those who contributed to the freedom and order for our nation. They are the people who
taught us what freedom is like, on how to stand by our own feet and not being dictated
on what we should be like.
VII. Those who contribute to the destiny of a nation. A hero helps in determining the future of
our country, they bring hope and light to the people that a bright future is ahead of them.
VIII. They are part of people's expression. That just by hearing their name, people already
have the idea of who they are and what they contribute to us, they are remarked on in
our minds.
IX. They think about the future, and also the future of the next generations. They fight not
only for themselves, and not only for the people around them currently. But they also
think about helping the future, on how fixing the current situation could help the future.
X. And the process on how a person became a hero. To certain people, they only know
how a hero died for our country. But is is also important to know the journey of this hero,
on how he fought, and the struggles he got through to reach his goal.
