Charles Babage - English mathematician and inventor Charles Babbage

is credited with having conceived the first automatic digital


computer and known as a father of computer.

Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) - It does so by regulating the


voltage fluctuations that occur in the power supply. This ensures
the output voltage delivered to the appliance remains constant at
all times.

UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) - is meant to serve as “backup


electricity” in the event of a power outage. In the event of a sudden
blackout, you’ll have sufficient time (courtesy of the UPS backup
power) to properly save your documents and shut down the device
properly.

OS (Operating System) - is the program that, after being initially


loaded into the computer by a boot program, manages all of the
other application programs in a computer.

Drive Partition - With a computer hard drive, a disk


partition or partition is a section of the hard drive that is
separated from other segments. Partitions enable users to divide a
physical disk into logical sections. For example, allowing
multiple operating systems to run on the same device.

Desktop - is an IT term for the most fundamental and basic element of a


personal computer's graphical user interface. The desktop display
is the default display on the computer when it is booted up;
auxiliary features like docks provide end users with options for
working from a desktop.

My Computer - is a Microsoft Windows feature first found in Windows


and included with all later versions that allows we to explore and
manage the contents of our computer drives.
Encoding - the process of putting a sequence of characters (letters,
numbers, punctuation, and certain symbols) into a specialized
format for efficient transmission or storage.

Mouse Pointer - is a small, graphical symbol or icon that appears on


your computer screen and moves in response to your physical
mouse movements.

Cursor - a movable indicator on a computer screen identifying the point


that will be affected by input from the user, for example showing
where typed text will be inserted.

File - The data stored in the computer system is completely in digital


format, although there can be various types of files that help us to
store the data

Folder - a storage space, or container, where many files can be placed


into groups and organize the computer.

Save - an act of saving data to a storage location, usually the hard drive.
Save as - Create a copy of a document while keeping the original.
Print Preview - a software function that allows a user to see what a
document will look like if printed.

Page Setup - a set of specific parameters involving the display and


layout of a printed page.

Landscape and Portrait Orientation - Landscape orientation is


horizontal, while portrait orientation is vertical. The subject of your
photo will depend on the subject and the message you want to
communicate. Landscape orientation is often used for broad,
sweeping scenes, while portrait orientation is more intimate and
can be used to capture tall subjects.Print - the process of a
computer transferring data to a computer printer and generating a
hard copy of the electronic data being printed.
