MODULE IN EARTH AND LIFE SCIENCE

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
Prepare an action plan containing mitigation measures to address current environmental concerns
and challenges in the community.

PERFORMANCE TASK
Volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, typhoons, spreading of viruses, these are just some of the
different natural hazards that our province experienced even up to this year. We witnessed the effects of
these natural calamities to us and to our environment as well. Fissures existed in different areas because
of the destruction of our environment. Due to the different human activities we are now paying to what
we are doing to our Mother Earth. As a grade 11 student, you will identify and mitigate a prevailing
environmental concern in your barangay. Once identified you need to present an action plan to help
address this problem. The action plan must include a significant information with regard to the current
environmental concern, title of your project, and digital poster that must appeal to the community to
take action for environment conservation.

THE AMAZING “A” PLAN

Objective/s: The objective of this plan is to spread awareness and make preparedness to the community.
To show the people on the community what to do during a disaster. People should have the knowledge
they need to survive. It is important to inform the people in your community the dangers and how to act
on it. In this time of the world everyone should always be prepared in any kind of danger. This action
plan will hopefully lessen the damage that will be dealt and to save lives.

Descriptions (Action Plan): Sadly, our barangay experience flooding because we are the catch basin
whenever there is a typhoon. To avoid flooding in our houses we should plant more trees and plants. We
need to clean up our surroundings and practice recycling. We should also prepare “Go Bag” with the
important documents and necessary items inside. It will be very useful to have things ready to go in any
time. It will save time for you to prepare and evacuate if necessary. Make sure to untie pets that are tied
if you can’t bring them.
