COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT

Community service is work done by a person or group of people that benefits others. It is often done
near the area where you live, so your own community reaps the benefits of your work. You do not get
paid to perform community service but volunteer your time.

Dear Students, as you all know we are facing the environmental crisis, so we need to come up with PLO 5 &
12
such community service projects that benefit our society and specifically our environment. As part of
this assignment/CEP and as a community service , you must choose 2 ideas from each category and

prepare a detailed report and presentation with pictorial evidence.

CATEGORY : 1 PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT AND FIGHT CLIMATE CHANGE.

 Start a tree planting activity in your native area. (You must attach your CNIC during submission
of this project.)
 Work with nonprofits that address the global clean water crisis or water conservation projects in
your native area.
 Organize a lake, river, beach, or ocean cleanup project. Like e.g., Khanpur Lake/ Dam,
 Teach waste reduction, recycling, and composting at schools and organizations in your
community. This could pique the interest of some enough for them to pursue environmental
careers at some point.
 Organize an information campaign about hazardous household waste and how to properly
segregate and dispose of them.
 Start a program on water monitoring and teach about water quality monitoring methods.
 Support or join organizations that advocate conservation and climate action.
 You can take part or support programs that address plastic pollution in your native area or in
UET Taxila.
 You may give ideas and work on the support projects or initiatives focused on introducing
renewable energy in UET TAXILA.

CATEGORY : 2 IDEAS FOR COMMUNITY CLEANLINESS AND IMPROVEMENT:

 Organize volunteers to help clean or pick up trash in UET TAXLA or in your neighborhood.
 Clean up your local playground or park.
 Collect materials or donations for families who have lost their homes in fires, floods, or other
natural disasters.
 Participate in community projects that offer small home repairs to households.
 Organize flower planting projects in your community.
 Create a campaign for donating cleaning materials for your next community cleanup project.
 Create your own cleanup volunteer group.

Students must choose the Right Community Services from the above-mentioned community services
that suits your interest and benefits the community in their environmental and Social problems.

This project will be performed in group of 3-4 students.
