Reflects Iranian Identity in Contemporary Tajik Poetry

Abstract:
1 […] More than 250 years have passed since the separation of Tajikistan from Iran. Since then, the country has
2 suffered […] a lot of bitter events, but has kept its Iranian identity strong. Contemporary poetry of Tajikistan
3 is the heir to the ancient Persian literature, which clearly shows the manifestation of Iranian culture. This
4 article studies the poetry of five prominent Tajik poets in terms of the components of Iranian culture through
5 a descriptive-analytical method. The study found that Tajik poets, regardless of the political boundaries of
6 their country, are contemplating and fascinated by their […] cultural and literary heritage […] . The two
7 elements of the Persian language and the common historical past are the most important elements shaping
8 their cultural identity. The manifestation of Iranian culture in their poems can be seen in the form of
9 commemoration of Persian language and the fear of its fate against various sects, citing the common past,
10 the bow of myths and Iranian characters, especially poets and ....

‫ سال از جدایی تاجیکستان از ایران می گذرد از آن زمان تاکنون این کشور جنگ های‬250 ‫اکنون بیش از‬
‫ شعر‬.‫خونین و حوادث تلخ بسیاری را از سر گذرانده است اما هویت ایرانی خود را با قوت حفظ کرده است‬
‫معاصر تاجیکستان وارث ادبیات کهن فارسی و آیینه ای است که تجلی فرهنگ ایرانی را به وضوح در آن‬
‫ این مقاله شعر پنج شاعر برجسته تاجیک را از منظر عناصر و مولفه های فرهنگ ایرانی‬.‫می توان دید‬

Analysis
The title of the article should be translated as ‘Reflection of Iranian Identity’
In 1st line, ‘today’ is not translated.
In 2nd line, [‫ ]جنگ های خونین‬is not translated. But it has preserved its Iranian
Identity strongly.
In line number 4&5, there should be square bracket [] before and at the end of
clause “through a descriptive-analytical method” since this is added by translator and there
is no equivalent in the original text for it.
In line number 6, the phrases [common] and [with Iranians] is not translated from
original text.
In line number 9, instead of sects; we can use invasions. By ‫ تعظیم‬in the original
text, it means “commemorating”, “celebrating”, etc. not bow. Also, by ‫ اساطیر‬it
means the famous characters of a culture in this context. Therefore, we should
use the word “Legends” not myths.
In line number 10, with this sentence structure the word [and …] should not exist.
