Each group of students should choose ONE of the following five subjects and make a

presentation of about 15 minutes. / Pentru examenul oral la disciplina Limba Engleză şi

Comunicare de Specialitate 3 trebuie sa alegeti UNUL dintre urmatoarele subiecte si sa
faceti o prezentare orala de aproximativ 15 minute:
1. Choose a company from a new, expanding market in Romania. Focus on its innovative products or
services, leadership style, organizational culture.
2. Discuss the importance of cultural awareness in business.
3. The challenges of doing business in a multicultural context.
4. How can managers best motivate their employees? You can talk about management styles and
motivation techniques.
5. Comment on ONE of the following quotations:
a) “Leadership is not a magnetic personality- that can just as well be a glib tongue. It is not ‘making
friends and influencing people’-that is flattery. Leadership is lifting a person’s vision to higher things, the
raising of a person’s performance to a higher standard, the building of a personality beyond its normal
limitations” (Peter F. Drucker).
b) A leader is best when people barely know he exists, not so good when people obey and acclaim him,
worse when they despise him. (…) But of a good leader who talks little when his work is done, his aim
fulfilled, they will say, ‘We did it ourselves’.
c) “Good leaders make people feel that they’re at the heart of things, not at the periphery. Everyone feels
he or she makes a difference to the success of the organization. When that happens, people feel centred
and that gives their work meaning” (Warren Bennis).
d) “If there is a trait that does characterize leaders it is opportunism. Leaders are people who seize
opportunity and take risks. Leadership then seems to be a matter of personality and character” (John
Viney).

INDICATII/GUIDELINES
- Attendance at the final oral exam is mandatory./ Prezenţa la examenul oral final este
obligatorie.
- Before the final oral exam, each group should upload a written variant of the presentation on
the platform online.ase.ro until the deadline I mentioned in class. /Înainte de examenul oral final
trebuie să încărcaţi varianta scrisă a prezentării d-voastră pe platforma online.ase.ro până la data
limită stabilită la curs. Prezentarea scrisă trebuie sa fie într-un format editabil (de exemplu Word
Doc., Power Point Presentation, etc.).
- For Subject 5, you have to choose one of the four quotations (a, b, c or d) and comment upon it.
You don’t have to comment upon all the four quatations. / La subiectul 5 trebuie sa alegeti doar

UNUL dintre cele patru citate (a, b, c, d) si sa-l comentati. Nu trebuie sa comentati toate patru
citatele.
- For each subject you may include in your presentation case studies, reports, graphs, statistics,
tables, pictures, as long as you comment upon them./ La oricare dintre subiecte, puteti face
referire la studii de caz, exemple de bune practică, rapoarte. De asemenea, puteti adauga grafice,
statistici, tabele, imagini, daca le şi comentati/explicati.
- Each group of students will have 10-15 minutes for the presentation. After the allotted time, I
will ask you questions regarding the presentation./ Fiecare grupă de studenti va avea la dispozitie
pentru prezentarea orala din cadrul examenului aproximativ 10-15 minute. După prezentarea
orală vă voi adresa întrebări legate de prezentarea pe care o veti face.
- Any source that you use (books, online resources, etc.) must be mentioned in the Bibliography
chapter of your presentation. Any quotations should be put between inverted commas otherwise
it will be considered plagiarism. Any quotations should be followed by a comment. The
presentation should not contain long quotations or it should not contain only a long list of
quotations without any personal contributions./
Orice materiale utilizate (cărţi, surse online, etc.) trebuie menţionate în capitolul Bibliography iar
citatele trebuie semnalate prin ghilimele altfel se consideră a fi un caz de plagiat. Citatele ar
trebui comentate. Nu trebuie să avem citate foarte lungi sau ca întreaga prezentare să fie doar o
înşiruire de citate fără o contribuţie personală.
- Each group of students should take the exam exactly in the day they are scheduled. You cannot
resquedule. Those who are not present in that day, will be considered Absent from the exam./
Fiecare grupă de studenti trebuie sa fie prezentă în ziua în care este programată la examenul
final. Nu se poate schimba data programarii la examenul oral. Cei care nu se prezinta la examen
în ziua în care au fost programati, vor fi trecuti Absenti.
