Chapter 1

THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

Introduction

Environmental Factors Affect Large Groups that share common living or working

spaces. Thus, they are key candidates as explanatory factors for health differences across

geographic areas, such as countries. Indeed, a major motivation for the research

on environmental determinants of health has been the repeated observation that many

health outcomes are spatially patterned. These patterns are present across countries and

across regions within countries, as well as at smaller scales, such as across urban

neighborhoods (Center on Human Needs. 2012b: Kawachi and Subramanian, 2007).

Strong spatial variation is present for a large range of health outcomes, including many of

the outcomes for which there are cross-national health differences, such as

noncommunicable diseases, associated risk factors, injuries, and violence.

Human behavior is an inherently complex subject matter which pertains to the

manner and reasons behind people’s actions. There are countless theories associated with

human behavior and various types of conduct. Understanding human behavior can be

crucial in society; this knowledge often sheds light on patterns, the reasons people make

certain decisions, and much more. The more one understands human behavior, the more

effectively they can position themselves and comprehend how others see, interpret, and

adapt to their various

environments. Keep reading to learn more about human behavior, including its various

theories and types ( Betterhelp editorial team, 2024).

These factors are related to the external system, namely the school, peer pressure,

the family, the community and the media. They are the social systems in which other

people influence students in their daily life. The study of human behavior has played an

important role in improving the lives of people who have mental health and behavioral

disorders. It has also facilitated advancements in areas such as early childhood education,

organizational behavior management, and public health. Behavior is also affected by the

context, including: what is happening at the time. the environment - heat, light, noise,

privacy. the response of other people, which is affected by their own physical factors,

personal and emotional factors, life experiences, wants and needs.

This diverse field involves the research and practical application of how individuals

interact and work with one another, and how groups operate. Strongly rooted in

psychology and sociology, studies of human behavior give us an academic understanding

of motivations, productivity, and how teams work. In the field of psychology, the

complex interactions between environmental influences and human behavior have long

piqued interest and examination. Using a behaviorist approach, this study explores the

complex interactions between senior high school students at Zaragoza National High

School and explores the various affects that outside factors have on their behavior.

The fundamental psychology theory of behaviorism emphasizes the critical

influence of the environment on human behavior by arguing that observable behaviors

may be carefully studied without delved into the complexities of internal mental

processes. Understanding how situational elements and outside stimuli shape senior high

school students' behaviors is becoming more than simply a theoretical endeavor—it is a

practical necessity in the ever-changing educational landscape. It is hypothesized that the

environment has a direct and indirect impact on behavior. The mediating function of

behavior-specific cognitions in the environment's influence on behavior is reflected in the

indirect causal mechanism.

Effective teaching and learning in the ever-changing educational landscape of senior

high school students depends critically on an awareness of the human behavior aspects

that influence their conduct. Behaviorism is a well-known psychological viewpoint that

explores how outside factors affect conduct. Believing that visible behaviors may be

rationally examined without examining interior mental processes is the foundation of

behaviorism, which illuminates how the environment shapes human behavior.

The purpose of this study is to investigate and determine how environmental factors

affect senior high school students' conduct at Zaragoza National High School. Through

the application of a behaviorist perspective, the study aim to understand the ways in

which situational factors and external stimuli influence

the behaviors that students display in their social and academic environments.

Statement of the Problem
