SOCIAL MEDIA AND ITS IMPACT TO 21ST CENTURY LEARNERS

The media is defined as one of the means or channels of general communication,

information, or entertainment in society, as newspapers, radio, or television and etc. Even I
used youtube, messenger, but the social media or application i used most is messenger and i
often used it approximately 12 hours with rest between intervals. Being media and information
literate is very important in understanding and controlling the use of social media platforms. It
can be used in discussions and make e-learning accessible. Using social media platforms is very
entertaining and satisfying. It is a foundation of communication. It is easy to use and very
accessible. It can help to grow social skills make family and friends closer even they are far
away.
The contents in social media that the youth more engaged to used are eye catching
and undoubtedly interesting. Social media messages and content can make it look normal and
cool. It entertains them in their leisure mostly meet up with their friend through the use of
social media. It can be used in researches and breakthrough. It also can also increase the
professionalism and work management. For the current (digital) generation, it is
understandable that we use cell phones, tablets, computers, and other devices to communicate
with friends and relatives. It's understandable that we use mobile phones, laptops, computers,
and other gadgets to communicate with friends and relatives in the new (digital) century. In
the other hand using social media can be dangerous. It can result in the spread of
misinformation and the development of bad values. It has a risk of inaccurate reporting and a
loss of privacy. some people spread fake news to gain financially and prominence or attention
or they just wanted or intent to do it. Make use of in-app and in-device limitations that restrict
screen time and social media access, without blocking it completely. Educate teens about the
risks of hostile and bullying behavior, both online and in real life. Model mindfulness and
presence. But there some major Advantages of the social media that needs to be consider
include that it allows information to be dispersed quickly and that it allows people to learn
about cultures other than their own. With help of information and technology, the instant
messaging, emails, voice and video calls becomes quicker, cheaper and much efficient. My
remarks about the 21st century learners in using social media is to become vigilant and careful.

 For a responsible, 21St Century learners, It can be used independently or with others,

in any medium, and to use that information to solve problems, communicate clearly, make
informed and right decisions.
