• Deconstruct any short story of your choice, written by Ruskin Bond on the following
parameters: Pre reading reflection on the title. Write in two sentences.
• Plot summary in not more than 50 words.
• Connotations- Use of sensory details/images or figures of speech. Give at least two
examples. Attitude/tone of the narrator
• Two characteristics of the protagonist and any other character/characters having an
impact on you. Examination of the title on an interpretative level.
• Theme/themes explored by the writer.
• Universal experience/truth that the story conveys.
• Critical analysis of the literary language (like use of metaphors, similes, personification
, and so on) What modifications would you suggest regarding the conclusion of the
story? Why?
