• Classify materials as either mixtures or pure


substances.
• Use the words soluble and insoluble to
describe whether particles dissolve in a
liquid
• Define a solution as a mixture which in clear
when one substances has dissolved
• In a given solution identify the solvent as
the liquid that dissolves something and the
solute as the substance that dissolved.
