MIXTURE

WHAT IS A MIXTURE

•It is the two or more pure substances are

mixed together.
•Mixture can always separated its
components because the atoms of the
constituent substances are not bonded
WHAT ARE THE PROPERTIES OF
MIXTURE?

• Its properties are opposite to the properties of pure

substances
• Its appears both homogeneous and heterogeneous.
• Boiling point is not fix unlike the pure substance
• In melting point there are portion do not melt
TWO TYPES OF MIXTURE
1. HOMOGENEOUS MIXTURE

- it has a uniform composition.

Example salt and water, vinegar and dishwashing liquid
2. HETEROGENEOUS MIXTURE

- not uniform composition. It varies from those with

atleast two phases that remain separate from each
other so those with clearly identifiable properties.
- Example: softdirnk and ice cube( ice os solid and
soft drink is liquid), chocolate chips and cookies
( can be clearly identified) salt and pepper when mix
together
EXAMPLE OF HETEROGENEOUS:

Soft drink and ice cubes Chocolate chips and cookies
