NARRATIVE REPORT ON KAMUSTAHAN FOR GRADE 8 – ROSAL

STUDENTS AND PARENTS

Manuel S. Enverga Memorial School of Arts and Trades (JHS) adopted the
modular distance learning and to ensure proper education were made online
kamustahan. This is the opportunity to update parents/guardians for some strategies
concerning the Distance Learning Modality and to hear the voices of our
parents/guardian and learners of their current situation so we can give better service to
them. The activity was announced via messenger and text.

During the kamustahan session of Grade 8 – Rosal, as class adviser I asked
parents and learners about their problems experienced when they were answering the
modules. Some parents experience the following: they are stressed on how to push
their children to answer the modules, some activities of the modules they do not know
so they cannot assist their children well, and some are not having enough time to teach
their children because they have work. And for the learners’ experience: Some of them
cannot do the activity alone because no one can help them and sometimes they need to
do the household chores. But despite their negative sides in this learning mode, they
also have a positive side, they are getting more family bonding, they have learned on
their own and specially they are safe against the COVID19.  I also have a chance for the
parents/students to get the suggestion to improve the modular distance learning process. And
most of them suggested giving videos explaining the lessons. In response to that, I will be giving
YouTube links or videos of the lessons in their group chat, and I also advised them to follow the
weekly home learning plan to make it less burdensome.

NARRATIVE REPORT ON KAMUSTAHAN FOR GRADE 8 – CAMIA
STUDENTS AND PARENTS

The Department of Education launched and initiated several learning modalities

that will cater the needs of each learner to grow learning despite our new normal
situation in education such as Self-learning modules, online classes, and video lessons.
These were used to facilitate and ensure that each student will continuously gain new
knowledge.

In connection with this new normal, Manuel S. Enverga Memorial School of Arts
and Trades adapted the Modular Distance Learning, and we conduct Kamustahan
activity to hear the voices of parents/guardians and learners to how they are dealing
with the modular distance learning and to attend on their queries/concerns so we can
give better service to them. I disseminate the information about the online kamustahan
via messenger and text to the parents and learners.

During the Kamustahan session, I asked the parents if they are ready for face-to-
face classes and most of them answered YES though few of them said it depends on
standard health protocol. Another was the experience they encountered in this learning
mode. Some parents said that they are stressed on how to push their children to answer
the modules, some activities of the modules they do not know so they cannot assist
their children well, and some are not having enough time to teach their children because
they have work. And for the learners’ experience: Some of them cannot do the activity

side, they are getting more family bonding, they have learned on their own and specially
