Beginning of Activity
Opening statement
I have some mirrors on the table and I want us to look at them and say some things we are
noticing about ourselves. Okay now that we have pointed some things out about ourselves I
want us to use our paper and crayons to draw a picture of ourselves by looking in the mirror.
Middle of Activity
Early: Student scribbles on paper and makes funny faces in the mirror.
Middle:Student draws a person with few simple details, copying off their peers around them.
Later:Student draws a person with many details and writes their name.

End of Activity
Students get a chance to share their pictures with their peers at the table, looking at the
differences between each other's work.
