DNA Knowledge

DNA knowledge has facilitated the increase of justice among all the people in the world.

Scientists have been able to use DNA during medical tests, forensics, ancestry tracking, paternity

tests and testing hormones. In all living organisms you can extract DNA which is the building

block of life in them (Lanigan et al., 2020). The criminal justice system beliefs in DNA for

accuracy and fairness and more so in their criminal investigation.

An American passenger flight crashed near Queens in New York, approximately 2

minutes after taking off. The flight crashed on 12th November, 2001. All the passengers together

with other five people who were on the ground were fragmented and destroyed beyond

recognition. Out of the 2 100 human body fragments which were collected from the ground, only

305 could guarantee autopsy (Mundorff, A. Z., Shaler et al., 2014). The body fragments of these

people, which bore thermal damages, were carried to the “Office of the Chief Medical Examiner

in New York City”, were DVI procedures were used to identify them. Within 12 days, almost 1,

800 body pieces were processed. All fatalities were recognized within a span of 28 days.

Genetic engineering is the process of using a recombinant DNA technology to change the

original genetic status of an organism. The process has its safety issues on pharmaceutical

compounds produced and in the health effects of foods from GMOs. (Lavrinienko et al., 2021)

The process of manipulating the original state of genes uses biotechnology. Biotech process can

be used to protect people against Bioterrorism and for privacy purposes. The process is

affordable and can be used in protecting human subjects in clinical trials.

So far, the DNA technology has increased fairness and justice in the judgement of many

complicated cases and made things much simple. It is the most preferred process in crime

investigations and scientists are still doing more research on how to advance the DNA

knowledge.
