uses of minerals

Aluminum is light, strong and durable in nature, so it is used for aircraft, shipping, and car
industries.Minerals are used in almost all industries. Gold, silver, and platinum metal are used in the
jewellery industry. Copper is used in the coin industry and for making pipes and wires. Silicon obtained
from quartz is used in the computer industry.

2.Minerals are not evenly distributed over the earth.

3.How are minerals formed?

Minerals form as magma or lava cools.

Minerals form when they precipitate from hot fluids that have cooled down.

Minerals form from dissolved substances when water evaporates

4.What is an ore?

An ore is a rock that contains important minerals.

5.where do we fing most metallic minerals?

We find metallic minerals in igneous rocks( igneous rocks form when hot, molten rock crystallizes and
solidifies)

While plate tectonics plays a significant role in the formation of many mineral deposits, not all minerals
are exclusively a result of plate tectonics. There are several ways minerals can form

Some other ways minerals can be deposited include:

Magmatic Processes:

Igneous Intrusions: Minerals can crystallize from molten rock (magma) as it cools and solidifies
underground. As the magma cools, minerals with different chemical compositions may crystallize at
various temperatures, leading to the formation of diverse mineral deposits.

Volcanic Eruptions: Minerals can also form during volcanic eruptions. Lava and volcanic gases may
release minerals, which can crystallize upon cooling.
Sedimentary Processes:

Precipitation from Water: Many minerals can form through the precipitation of dissolved ions in water.
For example, when water evaporates or when mineral-laden water flows through rock formations,
minerals can crystallize and accumulate.
