offer tutoring and mentorship for underprivileged children. The particular initiative aims at
children who lack the resources at their environment. as defined by Greenleaf (1977), servant
leadership emphasizes on a leader who serve first and prioritizing the needs of others. Through
the approach of servant leadership, the volunteer at the local community center, I am committed
to fostering and environment where children feel loved, valued and supported at all times.
Through the hands-on experience aspect, I took the initiative to empower and encourage the
cultivate an atmosphere that fosters mutual respect and understanding (Linda Parris & Welty
Peachey, 2012). Kindness and compassion can be established through interaction with
individuals from diverse background who may be undergoing through tough times. The
experience addressed my worries in the leadership aspect and taught me the need to approach
each person with the principles of understanding and empathy. In terms of justice, servant
leadership entails advocacy for equality, fairness and rights of the individuals under the service.
Thus, I focused i=on ensuring that each child has the best support for education, regardless of
