I am excited to submit my application for the open administrative position for your school district. I found this job posting
online and after comparing the responsibilities to my own skills and interests, I jumped at the chance to apply. I believe my 22
years’ experience in education including many years as department chair and teacher leader have allowed me to develop the
critical skills needed to excel in this position.

In my resume, as well as the page below, I have taken the time to highlight some of my specific experiences that have prepared
me to be a strong contributor to your administrative team. I completed the Preliminary Administrative Credential Program at
San Diego State University last summer and have my Preliminary Administrative Services Credential.
Stakeholder I am an excellent communicator. My communication style is conversational and trust based. I
Communication truly believe we are humans first and “stakeholders” second which leads me to prioritize
relationships to facilitate effective communication for all involved. I am equally skilled in
written and verbal communication as well as public speaking.

Interpersonal Skills/SEL I prioritize the human experience and social emotional learning in all my roles as an educator
and teacher leader. I believe stakeholders can only realize their greatest potential if they feel
supported, valued and challenged. I have the interpersonal skills to develop these
relationships with the diverse individuals within our sphere of influence as administrators.

Strategic Planning In my roles as a department chair and teacher leader, I have had the opportunity to plan and
implement various instructional strategies to improve school wide learning outcomes as well
as being a strong advocate for creating a positive school environment for all stakeholders
including staff, students, parents and others within our educational community.

Curriculum Development I have had the opportunity to develop new curriculum in my 20+ years of experience
including the expansion of more traditional music classes such as guitar, piano, band and
choir but also develop new curriculum such as digital media and recording arts.

Budgeting & Financial As the visual and performing arts department chair for various schools, I have supervised
Management budgets to ensure that all expenditures are relevant and support student learning within the
classrooms. In addition, I have supervised various parent booster clubs, their fundraising
efforts, budget and expenditures related to providing equipment, uniforms and student
travel.

Technological Proficiency I have used various technologies my entire life and I am very comfortable using existing tools
within education and learning new technology as it emerges. Specifically in music I am a user
of Sibelius (notation), ProTools (recording), FinalCut Pro (video) as well as education staples
such as Google Suite and Microsoft Office.

Finally, I am thrilled at the prospect of joining a school district with a long and rich history of supporting students’ educational
