SELF AWARENESS AND VALUES DEVELOPMENT

DIRECTION: Answer each question based on your perspective. Your answer must
compose of 5 sentences minimum.
1. What is Self Awareness?
Self-awareness is the ability to recognize and understand one’s own thoughts,
feelings, behaviors, and values. It involves being conscious of your own
strengths, weaknesses, motivations, and emotions, and how they influence your
actions and interactions with others. Essentially, it’s knowing yourself deeply and
being mindful of your own existence, identity, and inner workings.

2. Explain the Johari Window

The Johari Window is a psychological tool that helps people understand their
relationships with themselves and others.

3. Explain briefly each of the areas in understanding ourselves

Understanding ourselves involves gaining insight into our thoughts, feelings,
behaviors, and motivations. It’s about recognizing our strengths, weaknesses,
values, and beliefs. By understanding ourselves, we can make better decisions,
improve our relationships, and pursue personal growth. This process may involve
self-reflection, introspection, and seeking feedback from others. Ultimately,
understanding ourselves allows us to live authentically and lead fulfilling lives

4. List down the seven intermediate values related to socialization and defines
each.
1) Smooth interpersonal relations, or SIR, refers to the ability to get along
with people in order to prevent problems from showing on the outside,
even in trying situations
2) Loseness and Security in the Family, The so-called intimate family ties, or
family solidarity, are highly prized in Filipino society.
3) Respect for Elders, a principle ingrained from an early age during
socialization

4) Personalism, places a strong emphasis on the personal element, which

guarantees closeness, friendliness
5) Hospitality refers to the practice of welcoming, accommodating, and
entertaining guests or visitors in a warm and generous manners
6) Patient Suffering or Pagtitiis, The mindset that some frustrating forces
poverty, injustice, illness, or anything else are too strong to overcome is
demonstrated.
7) Panindigan,is a Tagalog term that means standing firm on one’s beliefs,
principles, or decisions. It involves having the courage and determination
to uphold what one believes is right or just, even in the face of challenges,
opposition, or adversity. Having “panindigan” demonstrates integrity,
conviction, and steadfastness in one’s actions and choices. It’s about
staying true to oneself and one’s values, regardless of external pressures
or influences.

5. Write the factors that affect the value formation and the types of experiences that
influences values formation.
