My AVID experience has been enlightening and engaging for me in learning about

interaction with different students. Although it was not always focused on tutoring, this was truly

similar to a homeroom experience for the students that I got insight into. I got to know most of

the students on a variety of different levels, although three female students specifically came to

really like me and some of my peers. This was a great experience because we got the chance to

talk to them about different parts of their life, while also referencing internet trends and jokes.

But more than that, it gave me and my peers a chance to juggle being friendly with students and

understanding them more due to age similarity, while also stating ourselves as teachers and

authority figures. Overall, I really did enjoy my AVID experience; but it is important to note that

the majority of the AVID experience is not centered on truly tutoring students, but rather getting

to know them, talking about life, and providing real life advice.
