What is the GL Assessment PTE

and Why is it Important?
The GL Assessment PTE is An assessment that will help me, you, your parents and all
your teachers understand how well you're doing in English. It's a bit like a friendly check-
up for your language skills.

Here's why it's important: Just like how you have goals in sports or games, the PTE helps
you and your teachers see how much you've learned in English. It's not about passing or
failing but about seeing where you're doing great and where you might want to improve a
bit more. Plus, it helps your teachers figure out the best ways to support you in English.
Timing

Progress Test in English (PTE) is in two parts. The first part comprises a test of
English Skills (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and the second part is a test of
reading comprehension based on a single passage for PTE 7 and two linked passages for
all other levels.

The order in which the tests are taken is fixed (English Skills then reading
comprehension) and the test is untimed. However, the first part is shorter and will take
approximately 20-25 minutes whereas reading comprehension will take approximately
40 to 50 minutes .
