WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT OUR INSTITUTION?

AKADEMI PROFESIONAL KOSAS which was established in the year 2015 is a Technical Vocational
Education Training (TVET) institution which offers students with skills courses in the attempt to
cultivate skilled workers in our country.

ARE YOU FAMILIAR WITH THE SUBJECT MATTER THAT YOU’LL BE TEACHING?

Yes Madam, I am very familiar with the subject matter that I will be teaching. For your kind
information, I have been working in logistics related position for more than 10 years where in
my present company, I have undergone many courses and training throughout the years which
had helped me to develop a set of knowledge and exposure specifically in the field of logistics.

WHY SHOULD WE HIRE YOU AS A LECTURER IN OUR INSTITUITION?

Although I do not possess any formal teaching experience, during my tenure as Logistics and
Accounts Executive in my present company for the past 10 years, I have mentored and taught
many new staffs in my specifically on the working processes and application of related
software. And to date, all the staffs that I have mentored had learned the knowledge which I’ve
shared to them successfully without any difficulties. With that, I deeply believe that I am
passionate about teaching and I have the ability to engage students in learning.

WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN FIVE YEARS?

In five years, I see myself working my way up the career ladder to a higher position and most
probably will be in the process of completing my doctorate degree (Well, the topic of interest is
yet to be confirmed) but definitely I will be pursuing my studies.

WHY ARE YOU LEAVING (OR HAVE LEFT) YOUR CURRENT POSITION?

Madam, I have worked in my present company for almost 10 years where I have worked hard
to master the work processes and the software applications but however I realized that there is
only limited opportunity offered to me during these years. I fear that if I stay there, I will not be
able to get any higher than the position that I currently hold. And that would be the prime
reason why I decided to pursue my Master’s degree and switch my focus to teaching, a field
that I’ve build interest in lately.
WHAT ARE SOME METHODS YOU USE TO MAKE SURE STUDENTS UNDERSTAND?

In my personal opinion, I believe that the best way to deliver lecture is through visualization. In
other word, through comprehensive slides which contain graphics such as photo and videos not
just words which can make the students bored during the lesson. Additionally, a Q&A or quiz
session at the end of every topic which has been discussed might encourage the students to
concentrate on the lessons taught to them.

Besides, assigning the students relevant readings and homework assignments will definitely
help them reinforce to what was discussed in class. This gives my students an opportunity to
practice their skills and apply the knowledge they have gained. And I will make myself available
for one-on-one meetings with my students if they need additional assistance.
