 The SWASTHYA RATNA Group Mediclaim scheme, launched in 2015
provides subsidized health insurance to employees of GJEPC Member
companies. The scheme has covered over 7.70 lakh lives and disbursed over
Rs. 174 Crores till June 2021.

 GJEPC’s PARICHAY CARD aims at creating an Identity to workers engaged


in gem and jewellery sector. This card provides the workers a valid proof of
their employment and identity and make them eligible for various schemes,
benefits and initiatives.

Common Facility Center

 GJEPC has set up CFCs in Amreli, Visnagar, Palanpur Junagadh, Rajkot,


Hyderabad, Coimbatore and Kolkata.
 A common pool of high-end & capital-intensive state-of-the-art equipment
made available at reasonable costs

 Services include planning, laser sawing and cutting facilities to process


diamonds. Access to CAD, CAM, RPT and casting facilities help derive
design output through modern technology.
 CFCs have improved quality, productivity and yield of the finished
products, leading to capacity building, growth in exports and increased
contribution to India’s GDP.

 GJEPC is setting up first jewellery Park in Mumbai


 The objective is to facilitate India’s labour-intensive industry with
infrastructure, state-of-the-art machines, and all other allied services under
one roof.
 Reduce gold loss ratio from 10% to less than 3%, saving 40 tonnes of gold
annually
 Single window clearance for all Govt. rules & regulations
 Generate direct employment for 1,00,000 workers

Self Regulation

The industry is strengthening its Self-regulation Measures

 MYKYC bank commissioned by Council provides greater transparency in


the business
 Paves way for connected and secured business with adequate
provisions of monitoring by the govt. and financial institutions.
 My KYC Bank’ provides a centralized global platform for companies
in the G& J industry (including gold, diamonds, precious stones and
Jewellery) to complete, manage and share their KYC information
enabling them to meet their obligations under the Anti-Money
Laundering (AML) laws of their respective countries.

Nodal Agency for Kimberley Process


The industry is strengthening its Self-regulation Measures
 GJEPC has been mandated by the Government of India as the nodal
agency for the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS).
 GJEPC plays a key role in maintaining the data and paperwork of the
flow of all diamonds certified as “conflict-free” going in and out of the
country.

educational institutes across five cities, and four gemological
laboratories underthe GJEPC umbrella.

Artisan Awards

 An endeavour to recognise jewellery designers and encourage young talent


 GJEPC organises premier jewellery design award show,
‘The Artisan Awards’. The Artisan Awards celebrate the highest levels of
art, creativity & innovation by honouring the best talent in jewellery design
and elevating designers to their rightful status of artistes.

Design Inspirations
GJEPC organizes Design Inspirations Seminar in Mumbai along the lines of
Signature IIJS in February each year

 Design Inspirations is an initiative to educate jewellers, designers and


students about the upcoming trends in the gems & jewellery sector in India,
Europe and the US.

 It gives in-depth insights into consumer behaviour patterns, aspirations,


desires, emotions, feelings; and how to translate them into thematic concepts
and visual directions.

Jewellers for Hope
The gem & jewellery industry has been involved in large-scale
philanthropic and charitable activities, particularly in the field
of education and health long before CSR became mandatory.

 The GJEPC formed Jewellers of Hope in 2014, which raises


funds from Indian gem & jewellery industry, which are then
distributed to deserving charities or NGOs for their social
welfare projects.
 The Council has made significant contributions towards
causes working for Girl Child Education, Sanitation, tribal
education, cancer patients, rescuing operations of Child
trafficking, providing artificial limbs to the needy amongst

KP INTERSESSIONAL AND KP
PLENARY MEET
In January 2019, India assumed the Chairmanship of Kimberley
Process Certification Scheme (KPCS). As the Chair of KPCS
for 2019, India worked closely with Russian Federation, KP
Vice Chair & Chairs of the Kimberley Process working bodies
to make the Kimberley Process stronger in terms of further
strengthening the administration and implementation process
and making KPCS more efficient. Since the inception of KPCS in
2003, this was the 2nd time in 16 years that India was entrusted
with being a KP Chair.
