BE A GOOD CITIZEN

We can begin by defining what a citizen is, it is a political-legal concept applied to any person
who belongs to a specific nation. Normally, the concept of citizen implies coexistence in
community with other citizens, who together make up a certain type of society that To be
organized it must be legally and politically organized.

But we must not only know that he is a citizen, the challenge is: Am I a good

citizen? How to get it done?

I consider that a good citizen is a person who is characterized by having values and principles
such as respecting his neighbor, traffic signs, rejecting violence and acts of vandalism,
respecting the opinions of others and freely expressing his own, knowing their duties and rights

What prevents us from being a good citizen, among one of the elements that we find in our
society is corruption, the diversion of resources and wanting to take advantage of everything.
This affects us all in general, they rob us of the opportunity to have a quality health, that our
children can access a good public education, they steal our children's food in schools, among
many other cases

But what can we do to counteract this situation? The changes can become big if we all
contribute, being transparent, with principles and professional ethics, leaving excuses aside
and being aware that all the actions carried out, no matter how small, have a positive or
negative impact Every man is free to do what he wants, as Nicolas Gómez Davila expresses it
"Freedom is not an end but a means, whoever takes it as an end does not know what to do
when he obtains it."

Within the pillars of a good citizen we find Freedom. It is the ability that a person has to act,
Responsibility, It leads us to be better every day, take on challenges and work hard to achieve
our set objectives, Solidarity Any act that we carry out for the benefit of another person
without receiving or expecting any change, Justice, It is the power to decide with equity and
honesty to whom something belongs by right, Tolerance. It is respect for the opinions, ideas
and actions of other people so they do not coincide with mine and Honesty. It is that person
who, in any situation, puts the truth first. We can develop all these pillars through actions
which are knowing, thinking, deciding and acting.
