JASON
Anna tried to work with Shiloh on
various writing projects for a
while, but Shiloh just didn’t have
the same drive. So eventually I
think Anna stopped trying. Shiloh
really wasn’t one to like
attention, so even when the gang
all got back together for my
wedding last year - well all of us
except Ozzie, who we’ll probably
never hear from again - Shiloh
dodged every single picture. To be
honest, I think this -

He picks up the photo.

JASON (CONT'D)
- might be the only photo of her
I’ve ever seen.

QUINN
How is that possible?

JASON
I’m telling you - Shiloh hated
attention. It kind of turned into a
little joke or game - trying to get
a photo of her. No one ever did.

QUINN
But are you still in touch with her
now?

JASON
Last time I saw her was at my
wedding last year.

QUINN
So it’s really just you, Margot and
Anna that stayed close.

JASON
From this group - yes. Our little 1-
4-1 crew.

Quinn perks up at this name.

QUINN
What’s that?
35.

JASON
Just what we called ourselves. For
a short stint we all lived together
in a cheap apartment in the
Heights. The ultimate bohemian pad.
Tons of parties, gatherings, etc.
Our friends called us the 1-4-1
crew.

QUINN
Just the five of you?

JASON
Our whole friend group kind of went
by that name - but we were the OG
crew, if that makes sense.

Quinn looks at the photo.

QUINN
The 1-4-1 crew.

JASON
It was a long time ago. We were
very different people back then.
That’s why Margot, Anna and I were
all so excited to finally be
working together for the first time
on the Blind Items movie. But when
the studio pulled the plug on it,
it was kind of a blessing in
disguise because it freed Margot up
to take on a much bigger project.

QUINN
Hold on - are you saying the studio
pulled the plug on Blind items?
Anna never mentioned that.

JASON
She didn’t know. Doesn’t know. It
was all inside information not yet
announced by the studio.

He leans back.

JASON (CONT'D)
It’s probably best that she’ll
never find out. She was going to be
devastated. Better for her to think
that the film is shelved now do to
Margot’s passing-
36.

Jason stops for a moment, looking like he’s fighting back

something. But there’s a nervousness to it that strikes Quinn
as odd.

JASON (CONT'D)
I don’t think it’s really hit me
yet that she’s gone.

QUINN
Hypothetical question: If Margot
would have said to you that someone
from the “1-4-1 crew” reached out
to her - would you have thought she
meant one of the five of you? Or
someone from the larger friend
gang?

JASON
One of the five of us for sure.

27 INT. JASON'S OFFICE - LOBBY - DAY 27

Quinn walks across the lobby and makes her way to the door.

ANNA (O.C.)
Detective Walker!

Quinn stops and turns to see Anna has just entered the lobby.

ANNA (CONT'D)
What are you doing here?

But before Quinn can answer, Anna’s face lights up -

ANNA (CONT'D)
You’re asking him about Margot,
aren’t you?

QUINN
I was, yes.

ANNA
Thank you.

Anna closes her eyes and tries to steady the immense rush of
gratitude she feels.

ANNA (CONT'D)
Thank you so much for believing me.

QUINN
I’m just doing the job - we haven’t
concluded anything yet.
