The given chart illustates the amount of fish and different types of meat consumedin Europe
from 1979 to 2004.
Overall, only the anount of chicken consumed experienced an upward trend throught the period
shown. In addition, the consumption of fish was the lowest in the 4 given
As can be seen from the graph, the amount of lamb and beef declined significant in the period,
To be more specific, the amount of beef consumed stood at 230 grams in 1979. This figure,
which decreased moderately to 170 grams in 1984 but later increased slightly by 10 grams in
199 before falling sharply to 110 grams in 2004. As for the amount of lamb, this figure has a
downtrend and reach a lowest point in 1999, respectively 60 grams, before remained stably
around 70 grams.
On the other hand, also worth noting is that only the consumption of chicken expericed a
growth during 25 years while that of fish remained nearly unchanged. A closer look at the
diagram reveals that the data on chicken eaten stood at 140 in 1979 after which the figure
climbed significantly to 250 in 2004. As for that of fish, it began at 70 in 1979, then stabilized
at 50 between 1984 and 2004.
