1. Break up into groups of THREE.

2. Each group will select a particular country to research & teach in West & Central African
region.
3. Topics include:
a. Economy
i. What is their currency?
1. What does it look like?
2. How does it translate into US dollars?
ii. What kind of economic system do they have?
iii. What’s the GDP per capita as of last year?
iv. What kinds of products are they importing and exporting?
b. Religion(s)
i. What are the main religions?
1. Provide percentages based on the population!
ii. How does culture fit in with religion?
c. Arts
i. What famous arts are they known for?
1. Are there unique musical instruments?
2. Unique styles of music?
3. How does art play a part in culture?
d. Poverty/Disease
i. How does poverty affect the country today?
1. What part does the economy play in this?
2. What part does history play in this?
ii. How does disease affect the country today?
1. What infrastructure is in place to help?
e. Warfare
i. How has warfare affected this country?
f. Effects of Colonialism in this Country
i. Share some long term effects that colonialism has had on this country.
g. Government
i. What kind of governmental system does this country follow?
1. Is there a constitution? If not, why?
ii. Describe the governmental system they have.

4. You may use the 1.3 West & Central Africa Today reading found on Schoology as base
information; however, that will not provide you with the specifics for your country! You
are required to research information for your specific country! You must create your own
Google Slides presentation.
