Not long ago, people stored information in books. These days, people store knowledge
on the internet. Do you think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?

In recent times the Internet has gradually superseded books as the primary storage of
information. This essay aims to elaborate on both the pros and cons of such a phenomenon.

On the credit side, the most pronounced benefit of this practice is that searching
information on the Internet is more leisurely effortless given the sources of news or
knowledge are organized in distinctive folders. People no longer have to spend an inordinate
amount of time navigating to a piece of information. To put into a perspective, more than
55% of British reported that they found employing cutting-edge technologies for data storage
more productive than the conventional method. Additionally, keeping information on the
Internet is not only convenient, accessible but it is also very profitable of great advantage for
careless and disorganized individuals.

Nevertheless, the drawbacks of this practice also should be acknowledged. Firstly, learning
and reading on the bright digital screens affects the eyesights of the readers. According to a
survey, more and more people get affected by office workers who eye-sight problems after
sitting in front of desktops over seven hours per day are diagnosed with eyestrain and some
form of refractive erros. Secondly, this practice somehow is not suitable for all walks of
lifedemographic groups. such as fFarmers or workers who do not pay much attention toare
not in the habit of consulting the Internet due to a lack of technological instructions. As a
consequence, this approach could not allow these individuals to get access to meaningful
information.

On the whole, although accumulating a web-based archive of data is favourable to people

who are imprudent and have loads of information to deal with, these benefits come at the
cost of diminishing the faculty of their eyesight.
