This pattern is written using US terminology and is worked in continuous
rounds unless otherwise stated. If Hubert is made using the materials
described, he will be about 22 cm (8.7 inches) tall.

YOU WILL NEED:


♥ Yarn
(I used Egitto Titan Wool 100% cotton; 50g/127,5m).
White, gray, green and khaki.
♥ Crochet hook 2.0 mm (or according to the yarn you use)
♥ Polyester fiberfill
♥ Plastic safety eyes (6 mm)
♥ Pink cotton yarn for stitching the mouth and the nose.
♥ Darning needle
♥ Scissors, stitch marker

ABBREVIATIONS:
ch = chain
dec = decrease
inc = increase
sc = single crochet
sl st = slip stitch
st = stitch

Chain (ch): Insert hook, yarn over, pull loop through loop and hook.
Decrease (dec): Insert hook into front loop of first stitch, repeat into front loop
of next stitch. Yarn over and pull loop through both loops on hook.
Increase (inc): Work two single crochets into the same stitch.
Single crochet (sc): Insert hook, yarn over, pull loop through stitch (there
should be 2 loops on hook), yarn over, pull loop through both loops on hook.
Slip stitch (sl st): Insert hook, yarn over, pull loop through stitch and loop on
hook.

HEAD
With gray yarn.
1: Start 6sc in a magic ring [6]
2: Work 2 sc in each st around [12]
3: (Sc in next st, inc in next st) x 6 [18]
4: (Sc in each of next 2 st, inc in next st) x 6 [24]
5: (Sc in each of next 3 st, inc in next st) x 6 [30]
6: (Sc in each of next 4 st, inc in next st) x 6 [36]
7: (Sc in each of next 5 st, inc in next st) x 6 [42]
8-12: Sc in each st around [42]
13: (Sc in each of next 6 st, inc in next st) x 6 [48]
14-20: Sc in each st around [48]
Insert plastic safety eyes between round 14 and 15 (9 st apart).
Stitch the nose and mouth with pink cotton yarn. Close the washers on the
inside of the work.
21: (Sc in each of next 6 st, dec) x 6 [42]
22: (Sc in each of next 5 st, dec) x 6 [36]
23: (Sc in each of next 4 st, dec) x 6 [30]
Stuff the head with polyester fiberfill and continue adding stuffing as the work
progresses.
24: (Sc in each of next 3 st, dec) x 6 [24]
25: (Sc in each of next 2 st, dec) x 6 [18]
26: (Sc in each of next 4 st, dec) x 3 [15]
Cut the yarn leaving a long tail for sewing.

LEGS AND BODY


Legs and body are made in one piece.
Start with gray yarn.
1: Start 6sc in a magic ring [6]
2: Work 2 sc in each st around [12]
3-17: Sc in each st around [12]
Bind off the first leg. Leave a yarn tail about 20 cm long and cut the yarn. Put

Important! Do not cut the yarn after you have finished the second leg, we will
continue with connecting the legs.

Now join the legs together. Continuing with the second leg.
18: Sc in each of next 12 sts, ch 6. Continue around the first leg (starting
with the first st in what would have been the next round).

Sc in the each of next 12 sts, ch 6. You have now made 36sts (12 sc + 6 ch
+ 12 sc + 6 ch). The piece is still open, but will be joined to a round with the
first stitch of the next round.

Close the hole between the legs using the yarn tail left for the first leg. Stuff the
legs with polyester fiberfill.

Continue with white yarn.


23-33: Sc in each st around. [36]

Cut the yarn leaving a long tail for sewing. Attach the head to the body.

PANTS
With green yarn.
1: Start with ch 23.
Now connect the chain with a slip stitch to a ring.

2: Sc in each st around [23] SI st in the first sc.

3: Sc in each st around [23]


4: (Sc in each of next 9 st, dec) x 2; Sc in last st [21]
5: (Sc in each of next 5 st, dec) x 3 [18]
Bind off the first piece. Leave a yarn tail about 20 cm long and cut the yarn.
Put it aside until you prepare the second piece by repeating rounds 1-5.
Important! Do not cut the yarn after you have finished the second piece, we
will continue with connecting them.

Now join the pieces together. Continuing with the second one,
6: Sc in each of next 18 sts, ch 3. Continue around the first one (starting with
the first st in what would have been the next round).

Sc in the each of next 18 sts, ch 3. You have now made 42sts (18 sc + 3 ch
+ 18 sc + 3 ch). The piece is still open, but will be joined to a round with the
first stitch of the next round.

A hole will remain between the legs, but don’t worry, we will close that later
on!
7-11: Sc in each st around. [42]
12: (Sc in each of next 5 st, dec) x 6 [36]
13-14: Sc in each st around. [36]
15: Sc in next 10 st, slip stitch in next st.
Close the hole between the legs using the yarn tail left for the first piece.

SUSPENDERS
With khaki yarn

1: Pull the yarn through the loop and ch 1.


....Starting with the same stitch. Sc in each of next 2 st.
2: Turn the piece. Ch 1. Starting with the same stitch. Sc in each of next 2 st.

Repeat the last row as long as you have the suspenders you need (measure).
When the suspenders are ready. Cut the yarn leaving a long tail for sewing.
Attach the straps.

Start with gray yarn.

Continue with white yarn.

Cut the yarn leaving a long tail for sewing.
Attach the arms to the body. (I didn’t add any filling in the arms).

EARS x2
With gray yarn.
1: Start 6sc in a magic ring [6]
2: (Sc in next st, inc in next st) x 3 [9]
3: (Sc in each of next 2 st, inc in next st) x 3 [12]
4-6: Sc in each st around [12]
7: (Sc in each of next 3 st, inc in next st) x 3 [15]
8: Sc in each st around [15]
