GUIDELINES FOR FILIPINIANA FLORES DE MAYO COSTUME

1. There must be at least 1 pair per section who will serve as class representatives. More than 1 pair
is encouraged as long as they are interested.
2. The costumes must be made out of “katya” and in Filipiṅana Flores de Mayo theme or concept
(e.g. ball gown and barong tagalog).
3. The costumes must be fully hand painted and must be completed within the school compound.

4. Accents, hand-held props and embellishments relevant to the role portrayed are allowed as part of
the costume.
5. Contestants must create their own design, style and/ or accent featuring Abrenian culture and
tradition, depicting Philippine flowers.

GUIDELINES FOR THE FLORES DE MAYO ARCH FOR THE REYNAS AND
CONSTANTINOS

1. There must be one (1) arch for each pair in the Santacruzan.
2. The arch must be made of bamboo in 4 poles with the following dimension:

Height: 2.5 meters


Width: 2 meters

2.5 meters high


(each pole)

2 meters wide
(each side)

3. The arch must be decorated and accentuated with synthetic flowers and other colorful decorative
materials following the theme or concept of Flores de Mayo.

GUIDELINES FOR THE VISUAL ART (PAINTING EXHIBIT)


A. Each class must submit at least two (2) artworks (paintings) for the exhibit.
B. Each painting must be in the following genres:
Realism (1)
Abstract (1)
C. The artworks must be done during CPAR subjects following the given duration.
D. The artworks must be in 4’x2’ size canvass.
E. The subjects of the artworks must contain local culture, tradition or religion.

GUIDELINES FOR THE ON-THE-SPOT PAINTING CONTEST

A. All interested learner-participants per class is allowed


B. They will be given 8 hours to finish their output.
C. The participants must execute one solid composition or concept (poster concept is not
allowed).
D. Participants must bring their own materials.
E. The output will be done in a 36”x48” canvass.
F. Participants are not allowed to bring pictures or images as references to their entries.
G. The focus of the painting shall be on Plena Air or outdoor painting.
H. Participants must come on time. However, late participants shall still be accommodated but
time shall not be extended

A. The contest is open to all learners of Abra High School (Main) across year
levels
B. All interested learner-participants per class is allowed
C. They will be given 8 hours to finish their output.
