1 Hi, I’m Julia. I love Saturdays because that’s
when I go to my karate class. It’s difficult, and
I’m not very good at it, but I’m learning a lot
and I’m making lots of friends. I love sport, and
play football and hockey at school. I also like to
go swimming with my family every Thursday
and Sunday. Sometimes we go to my favourite
restaurant for dinner afterwards. It’s nice to do
things as a family.
2 Hi, I’m Rob. I try to finish my homework on
Friday night so that I’m free at the weekend,
but sometimes I have to study on Sunday.
Saturday is always my day off. I like to practise
the guitar because I’m in a rock band with my
friends. We’re playing at a concert at our
school next week!
3 Hello, I’m Jo. I don’t do a lot at the weekend. I
normally stay at home and watch TV. But on
Saturdays, I like to read a book. I like lots of
stories, but my favourite genre is science
fiction. On Sundays, I play computer games
with my brother.
4 Hi, I’m Mark. I think Saturdays are great
because it’s nice to have some time for myself.
On weekdays, I get up early and go to school,
and on Sundays, I get up early to visit my
grandparents and then I do my homework.
Boring! On Saturdays, I like to stay in bed in
the morning and go to the cinema with my
friends later in the day.

Interviewer: On today’s show, I’m talking with
actor Greg Richardson. Hi, Greg, and welcome
to the show.
Greg: Hi. It’s great to be here.
Interviewer: You always look very confident.
Have you always been like that?
Greg: Oh no! When I was at school, I was quite
nervous. I wasn’t very good at maths, and I’d
worry about getting bad marks for my
homework. I was better at sports and was in
the school football team.
Interviewer: Your new film is about a teacher.
Did you like being back at school?
Greg: Yes, it was fun. The story is based on a
book by Rachel Adams. She’s a great writer.
Interviewer: I enjoyed the film very much, but it
was quite scary in places. I was surprised.
Greg: Yes, the story is exciting, but I’d say that it
was more of a thriller than a horror. It does get
scary, though.
Interviewer: Filming had to stop for a week
because you were ill. Are you OK now?
Greg: Yes, thank you. It wasn’t worrying. I had a
sore throat and a bit of a temperature, so the
doctor said I should rest. I’m fine now, though,
and I’ll be going on holiday soon.
Interviewer: That’s good. What do you always
take with you on holiday?
Greg: Well, I like to go to places where there is a
lot of sun, so I always take some shorts and a
few T-shirts with me, and maybe a hoodie if it
gets cool in the evening.
