Q.4
Q.5 (a) Day curtains are made up of light weight material which allows the sun light to peek through the
windows. These materials are translucent in nature which allows light to pass through it easily and keep
our houses light and brightened and ay time.

(b) Night curtains are made up of thick fabric which is denser and blocks most of the light. They are
made up of opaque materials which provides an insulating effect and we are not disturbed with light
form the outside.

Q.6 (a) Windows of the class room are made up of transparent materials which makes it easy to see at
the other side

(b) It allows most of the light to pass through them because they are made up of transparent materials.

(c) When something is clear like glass, light will be passed through it easily without reflecting the
surface, so all the transparent materials do not block or reflect light, but because windows are not truly
transparent so they do reflect some light

Q.7

a) Opaque material will be used because it will not allow the person to see what is inside.

b) Transparent material is used because it allows to see clearly what is at the other side.

c) Translucent material will be used because it will allow some of the light to pass through it.

Q.8 Both materials are different from each other in density. Foils are denser then tissue papers, so they
have the ability to block most of the light which results in formation of dark shadows.

While, tissue papers are less dense and allows some of the light to pass through them, reflect less light
so they cast light shadows
