A. Reviewing previous lesson or Recap: Before proceeding to the new topic, the teacher will ask some students about the

Mechanics: The class will be divided into 2 groups and all the member of each group
should take the balloon and round it then the last student of each member need to pop the
balloon to get the jumbled letters inside. Then, whoever finishes writing the concept on the
board they got in the jumbled letters first is the winner.

F. Developing mastery leads to The teacher will divide the class into 2 groups then each group will be given a situation or
formative assessment #3 scenario about ethical dilemmas that a counselor is facing. Then each group should have a
representative to present their generated concept and should critically think about the
ways to overcome these dilemmas.

Situation 1: Confidentiality vs. Harm to Others


A counselor is working with a client who reveals during a therapy session that they have
been engaging in harmful behavior towards others, such as physical violence. The client
insists on keeping this information confidential. The counselor must decide whether to
breach confidentiality to ensure the safety of potential victims or to honor the client’s
request for confidentiality.

Situation 2: Informed Consent with Minors


A counselor is approached by a 15-year-old client who wishes to receive therapy without
parental consent. The counselor is aware that legal regulations may vary, and they must
weigh the ethical principles of client autonomy and confidentiality against the potential
risks associated with treating a minor without parental involvement. The counselor must
decide whether to honor the minor’s request or involve the parents in the therapeutic
process.

respect, autonomy, confidentiality, and a safe work environment. They are responsible for
maintaining ethical and professional standards, safeguarding clients' well-being, and
avoiding any harm or exploitation.

1. Counselors are not mandated by their code of ethics to foster safe and professional
counseling relationships with their clients.

2. The counselor is not allowed to refuse to release any statement, conversation, file,
or information that is acquired while counseling a client.
3. Counselors must recognize and respect their clients’ religion, race, age, ethnicity,
educational background, socio-economic status, and other sociodemographic
characteristics.

4. The professional organization may offer various continuing activities to its


members, such as seminars and training, administrative opportunities, and research-related
activities.
5. Counselors shall not necessarily disclose the purpose, goals, techniques,
procedure, limitations, potential risks, benefits of the services.

counselors commonly face. You may read and discuss case studies that illustrate
some of the difficult ethical decision’s counselors may have to make, and explore
different ways of dealing with them.
