I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards The learners demonstrate an understanding about the professionals and practitioners in
counseling.
B. Performance Standards The learners should be able to undertake participant observation (e.g., a day in a life of a
counselor) to adequately document and critique their roles, functions, and competencies.

IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous lesson or Recap: Before proceeding to the new topic, the teacher will ask some students about the
presenting the new lesson previous lesson.

Mechanics: The class will be divided into 2 groups and all the member of each group
should take the balloon and round it then the last student of each member need to pop the
balloon to get the jumbled letters inside. Then, whoever finishes writing the concept on the
board they got in the jumbled letters first is the winner.
C. Presenting examples/ instances of Provided pictures of rights and responsibilities and asks some students to give rights and
the new lesson responsibilities of an individual.
F. Developing mastery leads to The teacher will divide the class into 2 groups then each group will be given a situation or
formative assessment #3 scenario about ethical dilemmas that a counselor is facing. Then each group should have a
representative to present their generated concept and should critically think about the
ways to overcome these dilemmas.
H. Making generalization and The rights and responsibilities of a counselor are often defined and governed by
abstractions about the lesson professional codes of ethics, state licensing boards, and laws. Counselors have the right to
respect, autonomy, confidentiality, and a safe work environment. They are responsible for
maintaining ethical and professional standards, safeguarding clients' well-being, and
avoiding any harm or exploitation.
I. Evaluating learning After the discussion, the teacher will give a short quiz about the topic discussed to find
out if the discussion s/he did was effective.
Direction: Read the sentences carefully. Write RIGHTS if the statement is true and
RESPONSIBILITY if the statement is false.
1. Counselors are not mandated by their code of ethics to foster safe and professional
counseling relationships with their clients.
2. The counselor is not allowed to refuse to release any statement, conversation, file,
or information that is acquired while counseling a client.
3. Counselors must recognize and respect their clients’ religion, race, age, ethnicity,
educational background, socio-economic status, and other sociodemographic
characteristics.
