WATER/ENGINE OIL PUMP


Removal

1. Place the vehicle on the hoist.


2. Remove the RH engine mount.

Drain the engine cooling system by unscrewing the relative cap.

4. Undo the three retaining screws and detach the rigid union of the water pump line.

5. Undo the screws that secure the water/oil pump to the engine crankcase and remove it..

6. Use the specific wrench 900027150 to undo the upper retaining screws.

Refitting

7. Check the condition of the oil-water pump verifying that there is no leakage from the draining holes.
8. Check the groove on the oil/water pump shaft for wear.

9. Always replace the pump OR.

Lubricate the pump drive shaft with Molycote 1000 grease.


10. Arrange the three O-Ring protection plates of tool AV3602.
11. Fit the oil-water pump into its seat by inserting the shaft into the joint.
12. Check that there are no signs of peeling of the O-rings in the area where the pumps join the crankcase.aFit the four M8x25 small headed screws that secure the unit
to the crankcase, the two M8x65 screws that secure the pumps to the lower part of the crankcase and the three M8x25 screws that secure the pump to the crankcase,
and at the same time remove the three plates AV3602.

13. Tighten the pump retaining screws to a torque of 25 Nm, using tool 900027150 for the upper retaining screws.

14. Connect the rigid union of the water pump line tightening the three retaining screws.

15. Always replace the gasket

Fit the right-hand side engine mount.

Open the engine coolant tank cap and pour in the fluid until it reaches the MAX notch marked on the tank.

17. Working from inside the vehicle, use the control panel to manually set the air conditioning/heating system maximum temperature (+32°C), for both the driver and
passenger sides.

18. This operation allows the engine coolant to flow in and out the heating/air conditioning system.

Start the engine, keeping it idling.


19. Wait until the electric fans start up at least once (engine temperature approximately 90°C) and the air that comes out the vents in the passenger compartment is
warm.
20. During this stage, the level of coolant contained in the tank could drop below the MIN notch, so top it up and keep it level with the MAX notch.
21. If you are unable to bleed all the air in the system, open the two breather caps positioned on the two cylinder heads (figures below).

22. Stop the engine.


23. Check that the engine coolant is level with the MAX notch.
24. Let the engine cool down.
25. Fit the trim panels on the engine compartment.
