GLOBAL DEMOGRAPHY

Objectives:

● Define Global citizenship


● Explain the importance of Global Citizenship

● What is global citizenship?


According to Oxfam:
-”Global citizenship is all about encouraging young people to develop the knowledge,
skills and values they need to engage with the world. And it's about the belief that we
can all make a difference”

-Global citizenship is an approach to cultivate all people especially the younger


people to become a better persons or specifically to have a knowledge, skills, and
values ​that are needed to be involved in the world. This includes grasping global
issues and diverse cultures. It goes beyond race, ethnicity, or nationality, it
highlights the interconnectedness of every individual around the world. This
includes that you should know that people have parallel interests or obstacles.
Global citizenship encourages a sense of responsibility and active participation in
addressing global issues and promoting a more just and sustainable world.

In other words, a global citizen considers themself not just as a citizen of a single place
but considers their identity as transcending geographical borders and behaves and
thinks as a member of humanity and not just of a single nationality

● Global Citizenship Education


-is a form of civic learning that involves students' active participation in projects
that address global issues of a social, political, economic, or environmental
nature.

● Why is Global Citizenship Education?


-promoting Global Citizenship Education is crucial for developing
well-rounded individuals who are aware, engaged, and capable of
contributing positively to local and global communities. It equips
individuals with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to address
the challenges and opportunities of our interconnected world.

bullying, racial discrimination, data privacy.
