Assessment Report of Utility Settlement Marker LUC45010 for Open Cut Pipe Laying from S4 to S5
Introduction
This is assessment report for the utility settlement marker (LUC45010)
that are showing down trend and reached to alert level at forest area
(S4 to S5).

The approved review levels for utility settlement marker are as below:
1) Alert level: 10mm
2) Work suspension level: 15mm

• Refer to the IM report of LUC45010, the LU reported 10.2mm of settlement
which exceeded the approved AL on 23/6/2023.

• An open cut trench was excavated for laying of Pipe No. 62 (HY) on 23/6/2023.
However, the open cut trench was 65m away from the affected LU.

• Thus, the settlement of LUC45010 unlikely caused by the open cut pipe laying
work.

• Refer to the IM report of LUC45011 to LUC45013 of 23/6/2023, which are

nearer to the open cut trench, the LU reported normal and stable settlement.

• LUC45010 shows stable reading from 24/6/2023 onwards.

Subsequent Action
• Since the LU (LUC45010) shows stable reading from 24/6/2023
onwards and it is no longer required for monitoring any open cut pipe
laying work, the affected LU can be terminated.
