PROJECT DESCRIPTION

To gain experience and adapt with business field, we’re given a task to conduct our
own business, this business was run with 5 members in group which purposely to promote a
cooperation skill between the members. Our group consisted of Muhamad Akmal,
Muhammad Aliff, Muhammad Syahmiey, Muhamad Hanis and Aiman Muizz.

After all research and evaluation, we’ve decided to run a business in selling a packet
drink and choosing the Yeo’s Brand as our main product, we chose the packet drink as our
product because of its high demand, cheap capital, etc. we started this business at Universiti
Teknologi Mara (UITM) Cawangan Machang as we consider it as a strategic location due to
its high attraction, we also targeting the student from the university as our main customer
because of their huge population. We started this business by obtaining the stock of packet
drink at Ecoshop, which sold at price of RM0.80 sen for 1 piece and RM4.80 for 6 piece,
because of it cheap price, we’re able to resell it at RM1.00 for 1 piece and RM6.00 for 6
piece to gain profit, supposedly we will gain profit by RM0.20 sen for each pieces, the packet
drinks also comes with various flavour such as yogurts, regular, etc. We also conducting this
business directly and physically with the customer and opted to use the social media
platform for easier business process.

Our business conducted both direct and indirect method, for direct method, we will
promote our product to people surrounding, the customer will have to take the product
directly, they also can pay directly in cash or pay through online transactions as we also
provide a QR code for easier payment. For indirect method, we also promote our product in
social media such as WhatsApp and Facebook, we’ve prepared a poster for advertisement
to promote our product online especially through the group in WhatsApp that consist of the
students from UITM Machang or group in Facebook consists of Machang’s resident, the
customer are required to message us personally through the application, they’ll given choice
to pay cash on delivery (COD) or through online transaction, we will send their order directly
without any charge. We also made a Wholesale promotion which the customer will get to
buy 6 pieces of packet drinks at price of RM5.00 instead of RM6.00 which is RM1 cheaper
than buying for each piece.

7. KEY ACTIVITIES
We created a poster as an advertisement that convey information of our packet
drinks such as the price, flavour, promotion location, etc. we will share the copy of this poster
through online platform or social media such as WhatsApp and Facebook purposely to
attract the customers and let the social media user know the existence of our products. As
appreciation towards our customer, we’ll always ensure our product in satisfying quality, we’ll
regularly check the product’s conduction in case there’s any damage such as crushed
packet, hole, etc. and most importantly we’ll ensure it safe to consume such as checking the
expiration date of the product, the product not containing harmful ingredients, etc. For the
product’s stock, we will obtain the packet drink from the Ecoshop in adequate amount of
stock for about 48 pieces and not too much to avoid any loss, we will also ensure the stock
will always available and restock it if needed. Besides that, we’ll properly manage our
finance, we’ll ensure our capital or budget enough to cover up the stock price, ensuring the
promotion price not leading to loss, lowering the price to reasonable price for promotion, etc.
lastly, we will make sure the customer satisfied with our service and treat them with the best
treatment such as keeping the delivery reach to them on time, answering any inquiries
regarding the product, talk and greet the customer politely, etc.

In this task, I’ve experienced the struggle of conducting business, the business field
is a fresh new experience to me as I’ve never run any business before, hence, I’ve made a
lot of mistakes during the business operation such as having a miscommunication with
customer, making a promotion without thinking the profit and loss, slow delivery, etc. In
positive side, I’ve learnt a lot about business field, I’ve learnt how to make an advertisement
that could catch the customer’s eyes, how to talk to the customer properly and politely to
attract their attention and give them a sense of appreciation, I’ve also learnt how to manage
the finance of business such as method to cover up the loss, manage the profit, etc. Most
importantly, I’ve experienced that the business needs a lot of patience and commitment
because there will always be a problem such as where the people not interested in our
product, having a customer with bad attitude and more.
