Personal Statement

Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is Tewodros Estifanos Ayele, and I am writing this letter to show my sincere
motivation and desire to pursue a master's degree in civil engineering at Bialystok University of
Technology in Poland. I am excited about the opportunity to learn and improve my skills in this
field, and I believe that studying in Poland will provide me with the best education and
experience.

Firstly, I have always had a passion for civil engineering because I enjoy solving problems.
Designing and building structures has always fascinated me, and I find great satisfaction in
finding practical solutions to real-world issues. Since I was young, I have dreamt of becoming an
engineer and contributing to the creation and improvement of our physical environment.

As a child, I became fascinated by impressive architectural wonders like skyscrapers and

suspension bridges. I would spend hours building structures with blocks, nurturing my passion
and curiosity for civil engineering. As I grew older, this interest deepened, and I pursued a
bachelor's degree in civil engineering at Addis Ababa Science and Technology University, which
I successfully completed in 2022.

Furthermore, I am committed to making a positive impact on the infrastructure development of

my country. After completing my studies, I plan to return to Ethiopia and start a construction
company in collaboration with my siblings, who have also graduated in civil engineering. My
goal is to contribute to the growth and advancement of Ethiopia's infrastructure, creating
sustainable and resilient structures that will improve the lives of our fellow citizens.

In conclusion, I strongly believe that pursuing a master's degree in civil engineering at Bialystok
University of Technology will equip me with the necessary skills, knowledge, and experience to
achieve my academic and professional goals. I assure you that I will be a diligent and responsible
student during my time in Poland, actively contributing to the academic community and
respecting the cultures and values of both Poland and Ethiopia.

I am eager to start this educational journey and make a meaningful impact.
