respondents. around 1000000, 384 sample size
is needed.
• There are 253,100 population in
Perlis (Department of Statistic
Malaysia, 2019).
Sampling technique

The Probability Sampling Technique is used by using cluster sampling

method

First, Perlis was divided into four district (clusters) which are Arau, Padang
Besar, Kangar and Kuala Perlis.

These clusters was divided into four district in Perlis.

Then, Simple Random Sampling (SRS) method was used to choose one
district out of the four district
SIMPLE RANDOM SAMPLING (LOTTERY
METHOD)
Get the list of all four district in Perlis. Let, Arau,
Padang Besar, Kangar and Kuala Perlis

Give each district a number starting from 1 to 4

Print each number on separate pieces of paper

and place the number in a box. Record the
number.

The number (only one number) represent the

sample of the residents in this study.
