INTASC Standard #7: Planning for Instruction.

The teacher plans instruction that supports every student in meeting rigorous learning
goals by drawing upon knowledge of content areas, curriculum, cross-disciplinary skills, and
pedagogy, as well as knowledge of learners and the community context.
Reflection and Rationale:
The two artifacts presented are lesson plans that I have used to help me lay out my plan
for a week in my 7th grade and 8th grade classes. These plans allow me to see the flow of
everything that I am going to do in a class. This allows me to see the “bigger picture” and know
where I’m going and what I should emphasize so that my students can get the most from each
lesson. This broader scale of planning is essential to creating a structure that, long-term, helps get
the student from point A to point B. Furthermore, it demonstrates my ability to plan for all
learners through my consistent use of a variety of instructional methods and differentiation.
