Topic Independent vs Dependent Variables

Eligible Content Represent and analyze quantitative relationships between
dependent and independent variables.
Eligible Content:
M06.B-E.3.1.2 Analyze the relationship between the dependent
and independent variables using graphs and tables and/or relate
these to an equation.
Lesson Objectives Following a brief period of instruction, the student will be able
to identify independent and dependent variables, achieving a
70% success rate on their Quizziz.
Materials Quizziz, paper, notebooks.
Planning for Learners Differentiation:
Content: The content of the class will be differentiated through
the variety of topics and examples given. The variety will enable
the students to find something that relates to them.
Modifications/Accommodations:
For students that require Learning Support accommodations, the
teacher will check in with them multiple times throughout the
lesson. For students that require ELL support, questions will be
read to them upon request.
Lesson Presentation
Introduction The class will begin with a bellringer which will be placed on
the board.
The teacher will then go over the bellringer with the students.
Sequence of activities The teacher will then, using explicit instruction, explain the

Using GRR the teacher will then practice some examples with
the students. The students will then practice dependent and
independent variables using a Quizziz.
Lesson Wrap-up Having completed the Quizziz, the students will watch a short
recap video that will summarize what they’ve learned.
