great positive turnout as we witnessed over 97% of girls’ aggravated interest in IT.

4. Practical Projects: Students participated in several practical projects where they

developed lots of skills in using technology. Some ranging from preparing presentations,
delivering presentations, using applications to design and prepare articles, letters and the

responsibility. Hence, inculcating in them the confidence to speak in public.

5. Motivational Sessions: As part of the aims of Go Girl Ghana, the ICT department
organised a regular motivational session with the students before commencing class
lessons. Though these were later halted, these had great positive impact on students'
behavioural attitudes, belief systems, attitudes towards learning, decency in dressing, wear
and overall personal grooming. Motivational Clips/videos were also used in achieving
these.
6. Effective/Consistent Delivery of Theory and Practical Lessons: For students to be
fully equipped with the knowledge of ICT, the department effectively deployed both
theoretical and practical lessons to students as well as constant assessment methods to
ascertain their level of assimilation of lessons taught to them.

These really helped build students’ knowledge raising them from zero to hero level in
various aspects of IT.

undergone graduation ceremonies and are now utilizing the acquired skills to make a
living. Others are also in tertiaries and secondary schools with a very positive result of how

programs, and industry visits. These partnerships will bridge the gap between academia
and industry, preparing the girls for successful careers in ICT.
