EHP Packet & FAQs

Welcome students!

Here are some FAQs, links and resources that to help you succeed in this training. We are
excited to meet you virtually to kickstart your EHP career journey as early as today.

1. What is the program all about?

Background of the Course


English for Healthcare Professionals (EHP) is an English language bridging course for nursing
students and other students in the medical field for international career opportunities and/ or
higher learning.
This program will benefit you in the following areas:

1) Assess your current capabilities to pass IELTS and OET exams.


2) Empower you to take initiatives to further enhance and develop your occupational English
language skills for international career opportunities.

2. Why are we doing this?

Desired Outcomes
• Individual assessment of English conversational skills. This training forms part of your grade.
• You will gain acquire deeper understanding of English as an international language for
international opportunities.
• It will unlock your best work and kickstarts your career planning.
Additionally, you will develop the following:
• Reinforce confidence and fluency in communication.
• Gain insights on your ability to quickly and accurately communicate in a clinical context.
• Know how to meet the language requirements for health professionals for international
opportunities.

3. How do I register in this training?

Please sign up thru the registration link provided by your coordinator at least a day before the start of
the program.

4. Are there materials or resources that I can access?

5. Does this program affect my academic performance? How will I be graded?

Yes, the training is graded. Your coordinators will be joining the classes and will monitor
your attendance/ participation which is 50%, and your test performance is another 50%.
EHP trainers will provide your professors feedback of your engagement in the training.
Please reach out to your assigned coordinator for further details.

6. Where is the link to the Zoom meeting room?

7. What is the schedule of the virtual trainings?

8. How do I provide my feedback to the trainings?

LINK to the form. We highly encourage your feedback at the end of each session. This

9. I need a step by step assistance in taking the Core Skills


EnglishScore test and how I submit my test results?

Kindly wiat for instructions from your training facilitators before starting this step. Once instructed,
begin with downloading the App called EnglishScore on Google Playstore/ Apple Store. You can also
download it here: https://www.britishcouncil.ph/english/english-score

This offers a quick and accurate test of your English level. The test assesses your proficiency in
grammar, vocabulary, reading and listening and can be used for self-improvement, to prove your
level to an employer or to prepare for a test such as IELTS.

How does it work?


• Download the app - you will need an Android or IOS phone with a working camera and
microphone.
• Take a free test in under 40 minutes.

• Get your score immediately.

Once App is in your phone, please follow those options with red stars.

10. I enountered issues in the App while taking the test, what should I do?

If you encounter any issues and you couldn't proceed to take the test right away, such as no audio, app
suddenly stopped or app asked you to wait for 24 hours, please take the test later. Please make sure
that your camera and microphone is ready.

Deadline for submisisons:

1.) Core Skills – April 6, 10pm, without any demerits.


2.) Speaking test – April 7, 10pm without any demerits.
3.) Writing Test – April 14, 10pm without any demerits.

Gforms will remain open until April 20, 12pm, if submitted beyond the deadline, demerits would apply.

11. Are there additional requirements that I need to submit and where do I submit them?

There are two additional requirements:

1) Individual Pronunciation Challenge (Graded per student): Please submit video in


this FORM. The deadline of submission is April 12 (Friday), 12pm.
2) Speaking Role Play (Graded per section): Please upload the video in this GDrive.
The deadline for submission is April 12 (Friday), 12pm.
