Instructions

1. Identify a public opinion TOPIC that resonates with any group of Malaysians today (reminder:
nothing political, please!).
2. IMPORTANT: Check with me first as I need to approve both your topic objectives.
3. Your report should include:
a. INTRODUCTION to the issue
b. PROBLEM STATEMENT – justify why this issue needs to be addressed and its
significance to the public(s) involved. Explain in 3-4 pages by referring to various
reports (give proper attribution/cite your sources!)
c. THREE very clear OBJECTIVES for your poll
d. There should be a smooth and natural transition from one objective to the next
(5Ws1H)
e. Then come up with questions for the poll that clearly demonstrate your
understanding of what needs to be asked in order to meet each objective. AT LEAST
5 questions for each objective.
f. ANALYSE FINDINGS
Do not forget to relate to the theories/concepts covered in the course) and write a
report with the questionnaire and references attached.

4. Maximum 10-12 pages. Remember this is a graded assignment so be very particular with
your work.

Instructions

1. Work in your individual teams.


2. Pick a post-WWII conflict (post 2010). It could be a conflict between two nations, a civil
war, a territorial dispute, a trade war, etc. You may also want to check out these sites:

1. If a conflict started much earlier (before 2010) but is still on-going, you may still use it
as your case study. You need to first set the premise by giving a brief history of the
said conflict. However, for this analysis, you need only refer to
the CURRENT propaganda and its effects on public opinion.
2. Analyse using the framework given in your notes (refer to slides in chapters 12/13).
3. You need to write a full report (don’t exceed 15 pages) and cite your sources.
4. Provide at least 8 references for the report (Note: T.O.C, references and appendices
are not part of pagination).
5. APA7, Arial 11pts or Times New Roman 12pts, 1.5 spacing.
6. Due on final week of the semester – deadline: 14th July 2023.
