Methodology

Research Design

This study utilizes a descriptive research design and a mixed-method approach that was used to
collect both quantitative and qualitative data for this research. A descriptive study's purpose is to
characterize a phenomenon and its characteristics. This study is more interested in what
happened than how or why it happened (H Nassahi, 2015). As a result, it was chosen because it
was appropriate for determining the implications of video streaming discussions as
supplementary materials for students. In a mixed-methods study, researchers collect and analyze
both quantitative and qualitative data. Information was gathered using a 4-point Likert scale
survey questionnaire that is used to allow a person to express how much they agree or disagree
with a specific statement and a paper interview with three (3) questions in the quantitative and
qualitative components of the study to make it clear and reliable.

Research Respondents

This study will be conducted at St. Rose Catholic School, Inc., located at Sta. Rosa St., Pob. Sur,
Paniqui, Tarlac during the first semester of the school year 2021-2022. Grade 11 senior high
school students of the Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) strand of
SRCS are chosen to be the respondents of this study. The mentioned students are chosen because
they are assumed to be experiencing difficulties due to fast paced lessons and no repetition of
lectures specifically on their specialized subjects. This study utilizes probability sampling
method, particularly stratified sampling method. It is a type of probability sampling in which
researchers divides the total population into subgroups or strata, then chooses the final subjects
proportionally from each strata which are created using some of the population's common traits
at random (Explorable,n.d). Using probability stratified sampling, the researchers chose senior
high school grade 11 students under the STEM strand as relevant respondents that can contribute
to the completion of this study.
Table 1 shows the distribution of the respondents according to class sections. As presented
below, there were forty-nine (n = 49, 33.33%) students from St. Vincent, forty-nine (n = 49,
33.33%) students from St. Albert, forty-nine (n = 49, 33.33%) students from St. Margaret, and
forty-nine (n = 49, 33.33%) students from St. Thomas.
