▪ BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION OF OUR BASIC EDUCATION DIRECTOR – BASAK CAMPUS
A Holy Mass celebration will be held at 8:00 AM on April 22, 2024 (Monday) at the Recoletos
Coliseum to express our profound gratitude and thanksgiving for the birthday celebration of our
esteemed Basic Education Director, Reverend Father Persiuz Joseph M. Decena, OAR.
o Please note that for Basak Campus, we will be implementing SCHEDULE B.

o The Main Campus will be following a regular class schedule.


▪ 4th QUARTERLY EXAMINATION- April 24-26 (GRADE 11)
Students are advised to pay for their tuition fees ahead of the examination schedules.
Those who wish to process for promissory note are also advised to process ahead of time through
the office of the Grade Level Coordinators. Note that a student is only eligible for one-time promissory
note in a semester. For balance updates, the students are advised to check it on their respective SIS
accounts.

▪ DEPARTMENTAL CLEARANCE FOR THE 2ND SEMESTER OF ACADEMIC YEAR 2023-2024

As the academic year 2023-2024 draws to a close in May 2024, it is important to facilitate a smooth
transition for Grade 11 students and ensure an orderly exit for Grade 12 students, addressing their
various academic requirements and processes prior to Recognition and Graduation. With this in mind,
the department will once again require all Senior High School students to complete the Student’s

▪ JOSENIAN SABAY ARAL PROGRAM (4TH QUARTERLY EXAMINATION)
As part of the goal of the Supreme Student Government 7 th Congress to create competenent and
successful Josenians, it will reimplement once again the Josenian Sabay Aral Program (JSAP) for the
4th Quarter of the Academic Year 2023-2024. This program is a project that assists students who are
struggling or having difficulty with particular subjects through onsite review sessions. For this quarter,
JSAP will now be identifying the students who are in need of academic help through the referrals of the
subject teachers.

The onsite review sessions will be happening a day before the 4 th Quarterly Examination which will be
on April 23, 2024 from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM. Please refer to the approved letter for further details:

▪ SHS GRADE 12 GRADUATION BALL 2024


In celebration of students’ hard work and success, the USJ-R Senior High School Department, in
coordination with the USJ-R PTA, organized a Graduation Ball for the graduating students on May 10,
2024, at 4:00 PM (Saturday) in the Pacific Grand Ballroom, Waterfront Hotel, Lahug, Cebu City. The
theme for this year’s graduation ball is “Starry Night Spectacular”.
In this connection, a contribution of Two Thousand Two Hundred Pesos (Php 2,200.00) is set to cover
expenses such as food, venue, lights and sounds, production, souvenirs, etc. The letter to parents
regarding this activity will be distributed within the week, and parents are asked to accomplish the reply
slip to be submitted to respective class advisers along with the payment, where applicable. Deadline of
payments is on May 5, 2024.

Lastly, all Grade 12 students, regardless of whether they will attend the graduation ball or not,
are required to attend and participate in all cotillion dance practices. Their attendance and final
performance will be components of their Homeroom Grade for the 4th Quarter. Please refer to the

▪ LUMINIGHT: A NIGHT FOR A CAUSE WITH 1 MAIN AND 1 BASAK

The Supreme Student Government 7th Congress has organized the LumiNight: A Night for a Cause
with 1 Main and 1 Basak on April 30, 2024 from 4:00 PM- 9:00 PM at the USJ-R Basak Campus Soccer
Field. In the said event, the USJ-R SSG has a noble objective: to provide essentlal school supplies and
materials to support different communities.

With this, each section will contribute specific items, such as a ream of bond paper and other necessary

▪ GUIDELINES ON THE SELECTION OF HONORS AND AWARDS OF THE USJ-R SENIOR HIGH
SCHOOL DEPARTMENT
Please be reminded of the guidelines on the selection for honors and awards. These guidelines are in
place to recognize and celebrate your academic achievements, and to ensure that all students have an
equal opportunity to be recognized. The University encourages all students to strive for excellence in
their academic pursuits and to take the opportunity to be recognized for one’s hard work and dedication.

▪ STUDENTS’ EVALUATION ON TEACHERS’ PERFORMANCE

It is important that students evaluate their teachers' instructional performance. This feedback helps
teachers improve how they manage their classes and teach their lessons. Students’ feedback is an
important part of our continuous quality improvement mechanisms.
Students may now access the student evaluation portal. Please be reminded to adhere to the
procedures:

▪ GRADUATION SONG COMPOSITION CONTEST 2024

As we prepare for graduation, Grade 12 students are enjoined to submit original compositions for the
graduation song, capturing the essence of their journey. The graduation song holds significance as it
symbolizes unity, accomplishment, and personal reflections for the graduating class and their families.

▪ AUGUSTINIAN RECOLLECT SPIRITUALITY EXERCISES (ARSE)


MAIN CAMPUS
The overnight recollection will be held at the Talavera House of Prayer, Quiot, Cebu City, from
12:30PM until 10:00AM on the following day. This activity is a requirement for students to join as part
of their spiritual formation.

Please be guided on what they are to wear, what things to bring, etc as outlined below:

• Notebook and Ballpen


• Clothes :
Day 1: Complete School Uniform during day session.
They may wear civilian clothes during evening sessions. No wearing of shorts, sandos,
sleeveless, pajamas and short skirts for girls during sessions.
Day 2: Complete P.E. Uniform
Towel, Toiletries & Personal Needs
Personal Medicine (for those taking in medications).
• Assembly time: 12:15 p.m. Departure: 12:30 p.m.
• Assembly Place: USJ-R Main Quadrangle
Moreover, to have a more meaningful journey, please be reminded that students are not allowed to
bring gadgets (PSP, iPod, mobile phones, cameras, ete) as these will divert their attention and distract
the solemnity of the activity. To help them with their spiritual journey, the CMO staff will ask them to
surrender their cellphones for the duration of the spiritual exercises

Exercises that were distributed per student. Submit the reply slips to your respective class advisers on the
identified dates.
2. Unclaimed IDs (Basak Campus Students) must be claimed as soon as possible in the POD office. Please

OTHER MATTERS
▪ STRENGTHENING OF USJ-R VISION AND MISSION
All Josenians are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the vision and mission of the institution.
This practice aims to remind us of who we are and who we aspire to be as Josenians. This further
instills within us the passion for moving forward as one community with the love and guidance of God.
▪ JOSENIAN ACTS OF COURTESY
Students are advised to be acquainted with the religious and lay administrators, teachers, other non-
teaching personnel and guests in the university. Provide them with your warm greetings (e.g., bowing
your head, Adelante morning) as you see them within the campus. It is but fitting to pay respect to these
personnel as they are the frontline in providing quality learning experience.
▪ PROTOCOLS ON OFFICE TRANSACTIONS
1. Knock on the door thrice
2. Open the door
3. Provide your greetings then state your name, year level, and section. State the name of the teacher
you are looking for and wait for the acknowledgment from the office personnel.
▪ JOSENIAN PRAYER DEVOTION CONDUCT
All Josenians are enjoined to PAUSE AND DISPOSE THEMSELVES IN PRAYER during the praying
of the 3 o’clock prayer and the Angelus prayers at 12 noon and 6 PM daily. This practice/tradition aims
to deepen our relationship with God and devotion to His Mother. This further inculcates in us the
Josenian core value of interiority and allow God to be the center of our lives.
